You have to get in contact with Ed, tavarish, or Tyler. And have them speak to ebay motors on your behalf. (If not they will never take this seriously). This happened to me on ebay motors. They don't care because they get final value fees every time. I listed my skyline there twice and they charged me twice. Even tho it never sold because of fake bidders.

Ebay motors does things for famous content creators. Not normal people like myself. eBay motors also* allows people (who have sold thousands of items) to scam smaller sellers (like me). And since they're high volume sellers, they will settle in their favor so they don't lose revenue. I had someone clearly say they want my tires, know the condition, know they shouldn't be used for anything other than rolling around the shop, etc. (They literally harrased me for days). Then I sold them to the person and said do you understand there is no returns and it is final sale. They agreed and reiterated it many times. Then they thanked me for the item saying they're perfect. (After recieving em). Then days later filed a false return. Send me back one single random tire. Then kept my tires, listed them for sale, and I got charged double what I sold them for. (I showed all proof and ebay didn't care).

Just an FYI, you might wanna add supports to that harness bar or run the harnesses differently. In the event of a crash, the bar looks like it could bend from the force.

In the past you could set restrictions on who could bid. No feedback, newer than X amount of time, etc to keep unestablished account from bidding. I no longer sell big ticket items on eBay, but look into those restrictions in the future.

Ebay has all the buyer protection in the world, but what do they offer the seller?

Ive only posted 3 cars for sale on EBay and each one “SOLD” for my asking price and not one, so called, buyer even responded to a message, much less paid for one. It’s such a simple fix for eBay by take a refundable deposit from a buyer before being allowed to bid or buy. I feel like even $200 would keep most of the broke idiots away.

yo, props for drilling, grinding and welding in a shark suit without parrell. lol. i was welding on 3-2-23 and had the drop light to my left (hot) welder in front (hot) and nothing to my right, but all a sudden while im welding my right arm starts getting super hot, like hotter them my left arm rigth next to the spot lamp (hot) and i lift my hood, look down and my entire FN shirt is on fire haha. needless to say that was allot of fun lol

There’s never any type of protection for the seller. Just fees they collect on every transaction. One of the reasons I stopped selling on eBay. It’s a disastrous scam nightmare

It’s not just ebay motors. It’s regular ebay too. I think it’s bots that are bidding. As from what I’ve seen the profiles normally are new (within a month or two) and have no reviews on them. I’ve sold allot that never get paid but luckily I don’t ship out right away unless they immediately.

And want to add as an IT guy, that Ebay can easily track this people, and blocking them from creating fake accounts.

Very big issue in the reseller community. I sell on eBay for a living and no longer do auctions. I’m obviously on a much smaller scale on a single item but definitely has been a issue for year. I just scratch my head with this cause it is such an easy solution.

So this is why I'm not seeing alot of good shit on Ebay anymore.... shame I used to actually buy things off there.

You can actually select in your listing that only verified accounts can bid on your sale. Most people don't do this. At least in Australia anyway. But we don't use eBay over here anymore. Haven't for years.

I think one thing that could potentially really help the channel is car meets. Not your tik tok kid meets, legit meets, cool location, all friends. I watch every vid and I’d be down to drive out there for a weekend and show off my project and learn from others and see what they have done.

This has been a problem with Ebay forever. I have been a member since 1999, and I have had many car auctions burned there. I am very hesitant to list any more cars there. I like Bring a Trailer because they require 5 percent of the bid price to be held until the end of the auction from the bidder.

I've had nothing but problems buying used auto parts from Ebay Motors. The photos and descriptions on many parts are misleading and sometimes flat out wrong.. Yet the sellers rely on their "No Return" policy to swindle many buyers on thousands of used auto parts. The sad part is, Ebay let's them get away with it. For a while I thought is was just me with the types of cars and trucks I restore but now I'm finding out from many people that they just don't use Ebay unless they have to.

you should only be allowed to vote or bid on vehicles for the amount of money you already have cleared as valid with ebay, like a holding house for auction money purchases. dont have founds verified. cant bid.

I have said this for a long time. Jerks who bid stuff up just for the fun of it with no intention of buying. Another issue is the dealers who list their stuff as No Reserve and then either create fake account to jack up the price or out bid the top buyers because they didn't get enough money bid. Then a week or so later you see the same car up for sale again. Back in 2016 I followed and bid on the same vehicle from the same seller for 4 different attempts over a 2 month period of time and every time it bid out but never sold. Then it finally got posted with a reserve and after ending (but not meeting reserve) for a sale price of less than it sold for on 2 other occasions with no reserve it went away.

I was on the other side of this issue. In 2019 I placed a bid on a decent 1946 Ford coupe street rod. I lost the bid but the winner bailed. Seller list it again......same thing. The 3rd time it was listed I was the 2nd place bidder and winner again bailed. Seller contacted me and asked if I was serious. He said I had 3 days to get him a bank draft for our agreed price, I did and a week later I had a 46 Ford street rod in the garage. But you are correct.....seems this is a big issue with the way things work on ebay.

The problem is ebay only cares about profit then the customer, Not the seller. If they require collateral it goes against a potential bid. It sucks but it’s ebay.

Sucks that they did you like that :/ One way I saw car youtubers in my region push cars is through payed entry raffles They sell tickets online... lets say at 50-100 bucks per entry, one person can buy multiples and then they pick a name through a randomizer and give the car to the winner. And they do it quite often so I assume it is financially viable. The real question is, is it legal in the US.

You know there is a function on your seller dashboard where only people that have 5 or more buys can only bid. I know 5 isn't a lot but at least it beats a buyer that just created an account.
