Ebikes are the best but i just hate bike thieves. Just imagine how expensive they are and someone will just steal in a span of seconds. I wouldn't be able to leave it inside my condo's bike locker nor leave it outside for a quick grocery stop. Also storing them inside my condo unit is a hassle. I wanted the ebike but was forced to opt to electric kick scooter for portability.

this is a fear of mine as well. if im unable to park and lock my bike somewhere im just not gonna let it out of my sight. its just simply too expensive to have it hitched instantly the moment you stop looking at it for 10 secs. the fact that its electric and clearly capable of going at high speeds makes it a high target. and if its stolen you cant do anything about it unless you put a tracker secretly somewhere on it (maybe inside the battery chassis so they dont see it and try to take it off). but even then some thieves will just straight up scrap it and sell it for parts so the owner wont be able to track it
@stinkycheese804

Get one that has, or add, a key, or app unlock. Get a good lock for it and don't get fat tires so fat it won't fit in conventional bike racks. Put a GPU tracker on it. Get insurance, there are agencies that will insure anything you want to, for any value you want to. If you have a condo, you don't even have a garage you can put it in? Seems like a bad life choice, but if you live on the first floor, just bring it inside. If you don't live on the first floor, again a bad life choice when it comes to putting your stuff where it's safe. I don't suppose you can add an attached shed with an alarm system?

@@WanderTeba the best option is modified xiaomi Pro I think. Its an overpriced product, but easy to modify like with Rita, and you can then keep changing batteries when it starts to run out externally. You could do that with almost any escooter and save money, but it would be much harder.

@@WanderTeba ebike is better for long distance, but it's not very comfortable to be in that position for 8 hours a day. If your back can handle it is a less hassle because you don't have to worry about the battery capacity as much as escooters. But the cons are also its more expensive, you have to park it each delivery while you can just walk into apartments with an escooter so it's quicker and you need a storage area.

Another great video! Your presentation style is really good. Easy to follow and understand. As an older person I can tell you the e-bike is about my only option. The older you get the more balance you lose and your agility is just not what it used to be. That's just a fact of life. There are older people who still use a scooter or skateboard but they are certainly not the norm. Thanks for the video.

My preference is the eScooter over eBike, eSkateboard, etc. after years riding ICE motorcycle and scooter all my life. Why? They are just so darn fun! I live in San Francisco and commute locally on my modified Xiaomi M365 Pro when I don't drive. The portability of the eScooter is amazing since I use my eScooter in conjunction with public transportations. In addition, the eScooter blends in with the rental eScootes scatter around the city, hence minimize the probability of thief although a good u-lock is a must. I installed front suspension and larger 10" puematic tires, and the ride quality is amazing. The FWD Xiaomi scooter has issues with the hills in the city so I am planning to convert it into an AWD in the near future. Once this is done, it will be a perfect eScooter for the city. Watching some of your video helped a lot since I am planning to build a larger battery pack to power the 2nd motor, and over-voltage them to get better performance (speed and torque).

Agreed, EUC, esk8, and onewheel are fun. EUC probably had the highest learning curve for me. Ebike with pedal assist is the best for getting exercise, for utility, and for riding at night with lights. I think it was inevitable - two days ago I ran my esk8 into a pickup truck when the brakes failed to engage. They were so reliable ...until they weren't. Normally I jump off the esk8 if I suddenly see an unexpected pothole or other danger where I couldn't brake in time and then engage the brake as I'm jumping off, but the failure of the brakes surprised me this time so I completely forgot what I'd practiced and rode the esk8 right under the parked truck and bent my legs underneath. PPE did its job, though, and protected my hands, wrists, elbows, head and back. Sadly I neglected to wear knee pads that day and now I have some nice road rash on my knee. Could have been worse...

Also, something I've noticed as a consideration between these is the quality of the ride on the road. Once I boosted the speed of my bike with a motor, potholes and bad pavement became an issue... I'm switching to fatter tires and under inflating them, and someday will move my kit onto a suspension bike. With the smaller, harder wheels of the sk8s and scooters, they make every sidewalk crack jarring. Do you have advice for a setup (softer/larger wheels? Trucks with springs?) that would add some 'give' for a smoother ride?

I'm using a scooter and I love it ... Mostly using it because of mix of portability, safety and speed.

There are tons of citycoco type electric scooter users out there.. pleaseee make a video for them,, for example most of them can make 45 km/h as top speed. You can show us couple of upgrade options for their speed.

I prefer a e-bike, but due to an above knee amputation and balance issues I use an electric trike (recumbent tadpole) it is not as good for maneuverability, and it is horrible off road, but it is far better than nothing. It is also a great way to get some cardio in when you can not run, or even walk, more than a very short distance. I credit my trike with getting me walking again at all, after over a decade stuck in a wheelchair 24/7.

Recently I've seen people using home-made spot welders to build their batteries. Most of them are based on a microwave transformer. Would you recommend using them? If so it would be awesome to see you building one!!

Compare eBikes, eScooter like Zero11x or Mantis and a unicycle like the inmotion v11, please. I was told, the inmotion v11 is a game changer, and unicycles are much more useful for daily commuting, but also better regarding fun and off road, freestyle, acrobatics!

Well made and informative video. i personally have an e skate and im head over heels in love with it. I agree that its inherently more dangerous than a bike or scooter, but man, its sooo much fun. The adrenaline just hits me like a sledgehammer when flying down the road 40km/h. Life is too short to always play it safe

I'm now up to 8 electric vehicles. 2 bikes, 2 scooters, 1 skateboard and 3 EUCs. The lack of range puts me off the OneWheel. But it's EUCs all the way for me. 2 big plus points over other things. They can play music and people can't ask to have a go and ride off.

@@Ryantheman2023 yeah lol board as in hover board? I used to have a one wheel, it was really fun but not useful for anything else. Escooters on the other hand are very useful. If you get a proper one, you can replace a car for commuting and travel. It all depends on what your application is. What do you plan to use it for?

This is coming from somebody who owned all of them - I think the interactive feeling of an ebike is the best. Everything else feels too passive but when you’re on an ebike you could still get some good exercise with a low level of pedal-assist. I also got some weird hip and back pain from my e-scooter so I don’t ride it as much. I think an ebike is the most comfortable option and you can mount a lot more onto a bike than a scooter/board.
