Well you can't stop torrents. There are free ebooks everywhere and you can't just blast a torrent. Real pirates are very smart man, to totally destroy a torrent you have to delete every file of the every seeder which is impossible.

But then again, a book worth buying is worth stealing to some. If the book isn't worth reading and no one wants it, then no one will even steal it.

Great video! However, blasty is no longer available. Do you have any other website which can do the same amazing work that blasty does?

Yeah, it's a bummer they're out. I've kept the video up because of the steps though. As for a replacement, there is one, but it is much more expensive and I'm not sure they're worth the price.

In some cases, perhaps. One can also say that the type of people who'd risk to download an illegal copy to save a couple of dollars probably isn't going to buy anyways.

Hi, I know that this service is not available anymore, and I know that video creator spent a lot of time making this video, and it was useful for people, thanks for this. But from IT standpoint of view(in my opinion), this service would not work. If website pirate.example.com has your book published without your green light, you must contact website owners and ask to remove illegal content. If they will not reply, or say NO, you can try to contact domain holder example.com and reported illegal activity. If domain registry will not help you, you can try to bring them to the court. All these stolen books are usually posted on very dodgy domains. By the time you will be in position to close this webpage, it already will be moved to a different domain. I know that all these actions will/should be done by blasty, but to you really think they will do all that? Also entire process will takes weeks, if not months, by the time you will block 1 website, your book will be downloaded for free million times. I am writing this here, as this is interesting topic for me , as I am looking for solution that could protect us against pirates, but I have not found one yet.

I think information, especially when it comes to books. Should be public domain. People are so greedy. The motivation for writing a book shouldn’t be money.

@@OakenTome I think authors should be compensated when it comes to fictional books because such books contain entertainment which is an actual luxury. However there are some books that can be treasure troves of knowledge such as textbooks, articles, and journals which might be needed by students and researchers to do assignments or research papers. The problem is that textbooks and journals have a paywall in them which is expensive and student have to pay for it when they needed it just to their assignments. That is why some textbooks are being pirated so they can be acquired for free.

@@OakenTome Yes, but that's not the point. Knowledge should be free. You don't lose anything if I pirate an ebook, so it's not stealing.

Great video, what are your thoughts on DRM for books on Amazon eg...is DRM a good thing? If I launch an ebook with no DRM is it still a good idea to use Blasty?

I can reply to this, as someone who has extensive experience from the other site: Pirating ebooks. As a pirate, I can promise you that DRM makes no difference. At all. It only needs one person to break the protection on a book, and their un-DRMed file will rapidly circulate.

Hey Anthony, yes it does. The way it would work is that you tell Blasty to scour the internet looking for mentions of your audiobook or ebook or whatever. Then you can manually check what they come up with and blast them as well.
