The Greasy Shop Rag

Күн бұрын

In this video we will look at an Echo CS271T chainsaw with a customer complaint that it won't start. There is a reason that one of the first things I check is the fuel tank and this is another example why. #smallenginerepair

Hey, i love the format of your videos. straight to the point diagnosis and fix - and the voice over is better than someone explaining as they go. great way to learn in my opinion.

Great work! The oil and gas knobs on my top handle are the same color. I haven't made that mistake yet but some day I know I probably will.

It happens often. Most people are relieved to find out they didn't ruin the saw.

I've got a fair amount of Craftsman tools that I bought years ago too. SBD didn't do us any favors when they bought the Craftsman brand. Many promises of bringing production back to the US that never materialized. I've bought more expensive tools for things I use everyday. Our coworkers always enjoy when we fog the shop up......Don't they?

I try to be respectful of the smoke but they spew enough diesel exhaust that I don't feel too bad about it. When I was a kid I remember getting a set of Craftsman 1/2" sockets and a ratchet as a Christmas present. No nuts or bolts were safe.

Great job. It’s nice to know the reason but you still got it fixed. 10 inches dia , different colors , etc……someone will still mix it up.

I’ve Seen This Several Times I Always Check the Fuel Tank Like You Do Everytime 😎👍🏼 It’s a Very Good Practice

Agreed. On average, how often would you say repairs are fuel related? It only makes sense to look in the tank first.

I've got a couple of Crapsman chainsaws. I've got an Endoscope. A couple of paranoid tenants who should be medicated accused of using it to look in their apartments. It's used for small engine repair. I use bamboo skewers to check if I'm not sure there's actual gouges from the scoring. A bamboo skewer certainly won't cause additional damage to the cylinder.

Its really just the switch. I feel I have to search for the button then press hard to activate it, but you're right...to each his own. I may throw a slotted bit in it for those occassional times I want to remove the slack from a chain tensioner screw.

I have an echo string trimmer with a grommet. It’s seeping somewhere. Three lines or grommet. Would you just replace or pressurize the tank. Thanks.
