I was in high school when this came out. I heard it once on the radio and loved it, but never knew who sang it. I used to listen to their older stuff back then, go figure. I didn't find out it was Echo until 2019

Such a well-crafted pop song. A shame that it fell through the cracks in terms of radio airplay when it came out in 1997. This should have the big crossover hit in the U.S. that the band had been waiting for.

They played the hell out of it local Radio in Maryland! I still hear it pop up occasionally on WZBH 93.5 and WAVE 97.1 as recently a this week!

I LOVED this song when I heard it here in the US in the 90's (the good old days) - bought the album & absolutely loved it (I love Evergreen) - especially loved Mac's voice on it - heard they had a lot of old stuff that i was eager to check out - actually was CRUSHED when I discovered they were the band who had put out Lips Like Sugar cuz I was looking forward to hearing more stuff like Evergreen (Mac sounded soooo different in the 80's) ...yada yada... the Bunnymen have been arguably my favorite band now for 25 years with Heaven Up Here, Porcupine, & Ocean Rain right up at the top of my all time favorite albums! haha Can't wait to see all their shows in Texas next week!!!!!! They're the best!!!

I checked out that Urban Foxes song and it can't hold a candle to the Bunnymen. The UK needs to get over this spoken sing-song thing everyone is trying to do. It's a flash in the pan.

He doesn't use that higher register with the yodel style notes. Every now and then he pushes it out, but it's becoming a missing piece of the sound.

@@nivagsmada2854 Gavin you are correct, Echos formed way before Foo Fighters - but that doesn't mean they can't be inspired by a group or genre of music that came to be after them. "I want to be there" is clearly inspired by the Foo Fighters sound - Alternative Rock/Post Grunge.
