When I saw how young Eckhart looks and the date on this video -- almost 20 years ago -- my mind said, "Maybe I should find a more recent video on KZfaq." The truth is that it doesn't matter when this video was recorded, because Eckhart Tolle was just as awake then as he is today.

True. But I prefer his "style" of teaching back then probably because of his age.

@@VakmanCA I kinda resonate with that. Eckhart back then makes it easier for me to laugh at myself. So its like. A mental/presence spa. Where eckhart now often reads me for filth and makes me wanna do better. So mental/presence crossfit

Are you kidding Marsha? I know Eckhart says not to get involved in internet debates but I have to make an exception...... I really overthink and often blame myself for many things, and have depressed feelings and thoughts. I don't think the message 'grow up' would help me at all in my situation. In fact that would make me feel worse about myself, inadequate, and blame myself. And this is definitely not Eckhart's message! He is saying to stay in the present moment, cherish every action in the present. Do not make any action a means to an end, even folding your pyjamas, treat them as sacred. Do not spend time in thoughts about the past or future, because they are not real, the present moment is all we really have and the only thing we have that can make a difference to our lives if we treat it right!

@havajava28162 жыл бұрын
@@jr6200 I had been meditating as a daily practice for over a year and it had been difficult in that I was always still identified with mind, with thought. Mistaking myself for that thought stream, and silence to be secondary. At some point, I began subtly and then markedly to transition to where silence was primary, and thought became secondary to that. A kind of full powerful silence, a dancing energy an absolutely stunning sense of beingness that was greater than our incessant languaging. It is hard to describe, but it began to flood my experience. For me it was gradual, for some it is sudden. I began to know that this is who we are, before filters and scripting and untruths of conditioned concepts of self. I turned to this more and more until it began to take over my previous clutter and clamor with its innate alive peace.:)

Finding peace in any situation ...I can give an answer that in ANY OCCASION it will be the correct response... for if you enter into such a place ....unconditional, conscious love, without judgement ... it will manifest the correct outcome. I’ve had much experience with this regarding family. I love them all and I see that the act is not a personal attack but rather an unconscious reaction to their own pain body then it’s easy to silently pray for them... I say ok or hum a tune or wink or blink but done all with a very conscious mind. It keeps my head above the depths of unconsciousness and I am able to respond in LOVE as opposed to REACT. One must omit EGO... one must be in the NOW. One must be authentic real and without agenda! It’s easy to speak of such a place of existence WHICH comes with meditation... believing in my creator and loving self and others as unconditionally as a human being is capable of. But it does take a conscious decision to uphold peace within at all times! My inner peace is protected by the Devine presence of God/ Source/ creator/ benevolent energy.... the label means nothing... it is the belief that is held into consciousness that manifests into reality. So deep but so good. Love you all! Brigid (energy of love)

After checking view counts from all sessions of this video series (to satisfy my curiosity), reading several comments by viewers (wow!), reflecting on the comments by Tolle from Upanishads (right on!), and having spent a quiet and peaceful day, as I was to go sleep, I noticed a tiny thought popped up but evaporated as if due to the power of presence strengthened - as if to say, "OK, that is enough." This incident reminded me of the interview video by Tami Simon, in which Tolle pointed, "with the “power” of now strengthened, thoughts may fade away like a puff of clouds in the sky! " Later, in the middle of the night, I noticed a sky full of stars from my hammock. Kio

Born in 1948, you calculate the age of Eckhart Tolle when giving this talk in 20011 Yes, at 53 he has this fresh face, this could be due to him getting enlightened at a very young age! living in peace with yourself and the others must be worth it!
