Yup. A friend of mine did that in 2017. He was a few miles away from me. I have heard of a number of people doing this over the years often by saying, "I have something that can top even that!"

Sir Did you take the solar filter off to get the diamond ring ?

It's very obvious in the video where I remove the filter. You won't see the diamond ring or the total eclipse if you use a solar filter. These are watched with the naked eye -- it is safe (and necessary) to watch the diamond ring (but not beyond) without filters.

What shutter speed do I need to get the Diamond ring and Bailey beads ?

@@williamcollins4373 This video was shot at I think 1/60th f/7.5 100ISO. However, the beads (shown in this video) are shot with the filter, the diamond ring without it. There are many exposures one can shoot the diamond ring at and they all look good and different. Likewise the corona which you can shoot anywhere from 1/1500th (prominences) to 1/4 -- all exposing different parts of it. Of course you can't shoot video at 1/4 but can boost ISO.
