Thank you for your great video that provides real and useful information. I have this 220W panel and I am very happy with the output. My best output is 198W. I tried getting more out by using mirrors shining sunlight at the back but 198W seemed to be the max I could get. I was also impressed by the 20W I got under grey cloudy sky. I found the EcoFlow products pricy but of very high quality. You get what you pay for. Greetings from Belgium.

@@johnnysweekends I don't understand why you get so low power results. Even during very low angle winter sunshine in February, I still get about 230Watts into the Delta 2 from the 220W panels simply balanced against a fence in a grassy field. I think the cover/bag/stand is decent for carrying the heavy panels, but very clumsy used to hold up the panels. Much better to lean it against a wall, fence, tree etc.

When the panels were standing upright without the case that's probably the ideal angle for the panels. Besides that you could throw down a white tarp put the case on that it'll protect the case and give you that white reflection for the bifacial

Thank you for your review. Interestingly enough, I had the same sentiments about the awkwardness of getting the panel out of the case, and setting it up. Glad that we agree. Your video helped me understand that I had my setup with the wrong side upfront. I had assumed that the cables should be in the back and was disappointed, because a cheaper panel provided 155w, and this ecoflow only went up to 145. I need to go out and retest. Your review helped me appreciate the Ecoflow's quality and renewed my interest in keeping it. In addition, you provided an answer to the question what are these straps for? Thank you again.

I bought a couple cheap ass adult size lawn chairs, disconnected the arm rests on both lined them up and placed my EcoFlow 160 on it and it works perfect. The panel is about 2 feet up and is pretty straight at a decent 45˚ angle. It can take some decent wind without tipping over. This offers protection from the dirt, rocks, cement and other junk that can do damage and cause fading overtime not to the EcoFlow solar panel, but to the case as well. I paid $10 per chair. Pretty sweet deal and the chairs fold right up and it is far cheaper than making your own stand. From my testing you can use a panel up to 220w and it should hold up just fine. I did try using my Bluetti 350w solar panel but due to the 3' width and 8' Length it was just too big without a 3rd lawn chair. It would hold fine with three, but not very wind resistant because of the weight and how high up it would be. Maybe, make some metal braces you could add and that would help it in the wind. I will probably just get some soft rubber pads I can place down for the Bluetti 350w solar panel to help protect it from damage.

The minute the sun came out from behind a cloud I checked my EcoFlow app and found the panels were inputting 228 watts! I am ver unhappy with the case, for all the reasons you mentioned. Well yes, but actually no. You won't be able to use both at the same time unless you design a sophisticated contraption able to illuminate both sides and there's zero sense to use lower panel instead of a higher one. This design is a gimmick and only ads pointless weight to it imho.

I have the 160w EcoFlow solar panel and the idea of using the case as a stand is just ridiculous. It is a beautiful case and I don't want to destroy it because I have to use it as a stand. There as to be some simple alternative for a stand to make this work where it is even more lined up. The stand isn't really enough. The outsides just flop around and there is zero support for them. Even with a couple of my complaints I think the build quality is very nice and it works very well. Working on schematics to make a simple stand for it. Save material, but at the sometime make it durable and easy to disassemble when not in use. Should be fun.

Question. I have the EcoFlow 400 watt portable/foldable panel. I test them with my multi meter before using them the first time. I multiply the voltage by the amperage, and get the wattage. When I plug it into the Delta Pro, I always get a wattage input about 20 to 25% lower than my multi meter measurement. Is that normal? It can’t be more than 5 or 10 seconds that goes by between taking the measurement and plugging the panel into the battery and I measure directly from the XT60 connector. Your meter showed a reading 4 to 5% lower compared to your battery…
@johnnysweekends
@johnnysweekends 6 ай бұрын
A couple things to consider here. One is conditions, temp, clear skis and more all play a part in total performance of the panel. Two, almost every panel made will never produce rated watts unless it’s under rated. Another thing is when you are checking with a meter you are testing an open circuit voltage, VOC, so there is no “load” on the panel yet. Once plugged in a load will be placed on it and you will see new numbers that are now your Pmax or also Vmpp. Basically maximum power point voltage which is the controller inside the EcoFlow unit or other solar charge controllers trying to get the most amount of volts and current from the device. And if the conditions are not great and the solar panel is poorly angled it could be way less than rated. That panel in good conditions should give a good 380 watts or a little more or less.
@josiahberry8743
@josiahberry8743 6 ай бұрын
@@johnnysweekends Ah, yes. The resistance, got it. The rated Vmp multiplied by the Imp gets me a wattage 14% lower than multiplying the open circuit voltage by the short circuit current. If I add 5 to 10% to that from what I assume is just the additional energy lost in the charging process of the Delta Pro, that gets me to that 20 to 25% difference I was asking about. How do they calculate what the load will be on the panel to get those published Vmp and Imp ratings? Do they base it off of one of their battery units? Or maybe MPPT chargers have the same or similar load… And with the rating, most definitely. Anything over 90% of the rating of a given panel in perfect conditions is good in my book. I’m in WI so it’s a low sun angle right now. Looking forward to summer testing. By eyeballing the angle, I got about 325 watts during peak sun hours on a perfect day 9 days before winter solstice this year. AQI index was around 50.

Indoor bifacial panels are in the newsfeed. They use any light in the home, including sun. Lightening bug enzyme can be genetically added to bacteria, placed in thin cases covering panels and then such panels can be stacked in attic, basement, garage etc. Maybe rented from power company with battery instead of transmission lines everywhere.

@johnnysweekends

Weather it’s set up correctly in the poorly designed carrying case it won’t change the output. In direct sunlight when aligned you get what you get. And being that it has memory it won’t fold out flat and stays bent on each end. After many hours it then relaxes which is fine. It’s a great panel with a not so great stand. I don’t like using my nice case in the dirt or moisture getting it all dirty or possible wear through the case. Good panel, poor stand.

I personally do not like these flexible solar modules. Theyre just too delicate, break easily and often they lack a proper stand. I bought suitcase style mobile solar panels and would buy them again. They are strong and sturdy and the extra weight is not really a problem unless you plan to carry it for long distances. Plus: If I dont need them anymore at any time in the future, I can always remove the hinges and mount them anywhere I want, just like normal solar panels.
