Ecosystem maps allow a foundation or non-profit organization to better understand how their work aligns and/or contributes or a non-profit deepen and broaden its understanding of how its investments contribute to efforts to improve a sector and/or systems within a sector as well as extend limited grantmaking funds by providing guidance on the wisest investment choices, partnerships with other funders, or the identification of programs that operate efficiently.
