Is Robot Vacuum finally ready to take over vacuuming from me? My family has enjoyed having the ECOVACS DEEBOT OZMO 950 around tremendously, much more than any other vacuum before it. If you have not looked into a robot vacuum lately, I highly recommend it.

Great review! I picked up the 950 this week and it's taken a huge load off my shoulders, can't complain at all. I actually sit there and watch the app too, it's so mesmerising 😂

You're the kindest person I've ever seen. You replied many people which is the hardest job. I was planning to buy viomi 3, but deebot has a function that differentiate carpet from the hard surface. This function is very very curicial. Thank you for your video

Really well done video, thanks. I just bought a Deebot 900, and I can see that the 950 you featured has superior mapping AI and room coverage algorithms. But I’m pretty happy with my 900 version for now; it does the job.

Nice write up! I bought the 920 which is on the same platform (smaller bin and a little less suction power) and so far its been great! we send it into the kitchen after cooking etc. to clear up any debris. and in a house with a few cats it really keeps the fur / fluff away. The only issue I have is that is struggles with some rugs, we have 2 large ones on a wooden floor, both the same thickness. One it has no issues with and cracks on, the other it seems to hesitate and struggles to get on in some places. I think an update from Ecovacs that tells the vac to move forward with a little more force when moving onto rugs and (or some carpets) would resolve this. The mopping feature is handy, if you set it to do 2 passes it does remove move stains (if any), It does take a while for the cloth to get damp so we started to wet it before adding it to mop and seems to work well. I

The bin is the same size, they are physically the same, only the finishing is different. The battery and suction power are the main differences.

Hi, nice review man, it's really nice to hear first hand experience on how this robot can really help your daily life. We already ordered one ourselves, and it will be the first robot vacuum we own, we're getting more excited after watching your review. By the way, where do you dock the charging place? In your experience, is it okay to put it under some kind of furniture, say, a table maybe?

Now is $350sh but I’m undecided with another great deal The Roborock S6 for $379 MSRP &649. I have a 2100 sf. Single tiled floor with a few space rugs. Besides features and cleaning - my second highest priority is durability. Any input from you will make that decision so much easier. Thank you so much.

@@Tech4Baba yes. I ended up choosing the Roborock S6 for $379. They seem after hearing and reading on it- that they’re just better and more reliable. I don’t have much carpet and though the mopping system on the Ozmo 950 is better- I opted for reliability and durability. It’s a new unit with a 12 month warranty and I extended one extra year with my American Express. Thanks for your input. It truly helped.

What happens when you move stuff around? For example I have a fold-out racing chair that sometimes is setup, and sometimes is not. Does it reset the entire map like it did in 2017?

It’s been a week since i started using this bot.....it’s worth the money......I live in a duplex so I am using the multi floor mapping feature....but when I tried to generate the third map for my house....the app prompted me to replace it with 1 of the 2 already existing maps. As u mentioned that we can store up to 3 maps of a house....I think it’s limited to two maps only. Has anyone else tried doing this? How many maps could u store?

Good question, Pranav. I checked the latest Ecovacs App. Looks like while it can scan three maps, the third scanned map is only a temporary map. Only 2 maps can be stored. Thanks for watching! Stay safe.

What should i pick? Roborock s5 max or Ecovavs Deboot Ozmo 950. Since my country doesn't have Roborock service center, but have Ecovacs service center. But i do lean forward to Roborock s5 max. Do you think Roborock has a big possibility to have a constraint? and how difficult to handle it with my own limited equipment and solve it by myself at home? what do you think i should pick? thankyou fyi..

I found that too, and it’s obvious really. It uses LIDAR to “see” the room, so when the light hits a mirror, it reacts in the same was as when you look at a mirror, it looks like you’re looking into another room beyond the mirror, and the robot’s LIDAR sees, and “thinks” the same thing. I solved this in my home by relocating my large mirror so it was not at ground level. Then re did the room maps and problem was solved.

Easy solution is just put a frosted sticker on the same level height as the LIDAR.

Great review. I opened mine today, no instruction manual so I got a PDF from ecovacs. It still doesn’t tell me how to use first time, or whether there is set up navigation. After it charges I will put in the hallway and hopefully start it.

@@Tech4Baba Used it for the first time last night - 2 hours, got every room, and re-docked. But despite having my wifi connected before it started there is still nothing on the app other than named unit created when I set it up earlier. A disappointment since I still have no functionality via the app, but it did vacuum great.

If the base power is off , will it wander around serching ? I am seeing that problem with my Trifo Max-s. Can you confirm if it is the case with this vaccum cleaner as well ! Power cuts are common in India

If the bot is fully charged and hasn't been used since the full charge, it will go into sleep mode and wont search for the dock when the power supply is cut.....but if it is docked and charging it will start scearching for the dock(this mostly happens if it just finished a clean)......when the battery is almost full, it wont search for its dock but rather shuts down until the power is back. This is wht i noticed with my bot(ozmo 950).

My 920 deboot is not cleaning carpets when mop plate is attached. Do we need to do any specific setting to auto stop the mopping on the carpets ?

Hi, the mopping cloth you've shown in this video and probably the one that came with your 950 is not the original one from Ecovacs. Was it swapped or exchanged by the seller somehow? I don't know. The cloth you got is the same with the third party one which is not original and thinner.

What is the freq of the Lidar used? Is it more 1550? Because if it is 950 ones, then they can cause permanent eye damage

I just returned my ecovac Deebot 950 because it kept on deleting the map, got stuck on everything and nothing, and just randomly couldn't find it's charging dock even though it was marked clearly on the map exactly where the charging station was located (I put it in a open, clutter free, wide, undisturbed area as you are supposed to do). Robot vacuums are just dumb expensive toys for adults. I will never buy another robot vacuum cleaner ever again!
