LD got far fewer votes than Reform, but far more seats. This is unfair. Labour got 30% of votes and 400 seats, so how come Reform only got 4 seats with 15% of the vote?!!

Vote share doesn’t matter, these are local elections that have the winning party decide a leader, only 4 places had reform winning their seat, it’s pretty self explanatory, and it shows how popular the Lib Dem’s are on a local level and a viable alternative to Labour and the tories

Oh NOW you Brexiteers care about "fairness" and proportional representation. Now that FPTP isn't in your favour. Not when Brexit Boris won, despite Most of the nation voting for Left wing parties. Funny that 🤔

The electoral system. The LibDems have been held down by it for ages, but this time their seat share matches their share of the vote. Something that both the Libdems and Reform agree on is reforming the electoral system to something more proportional.

Look, Reform got 14.5% of the votes, Liberal Democrats got 13%. Its not the LibDems' fault they fought like crazy in their target seats and smashed it, winning 72 seat!!!! Reform made the error of fielding candidates in every constituency, spreading resources too thinly, and ending up with a handful of seats. Sorry

Davey: the man who betrayed thousands of falsely accused postmasters. Bankruptcies, suicides, imprisonments, constant stress. And Davey did nothing.

Nationally. The elections aren't to determine a national government primarily; they are primarily to determine representatives of localised communities to serve for the public in a national congregation. Not being a fan of FPTP is incredibly boilerplate. Electoral reform is chill but contextualise the situation properly.

@@austinthesan-antonian3932 That's the theory The practice is somewhat different. A national government should be comprised along the lines of the national vote proportion. Otherwise millions are left voiceless in Parliament which is unconscionable in a supposed representative democracy.

@@davidbrown5411 What are the odds you were just fine with FPTP when Brexit Boris won a landslide in 2019? 🤔 Like the other guy said: cope

@@Kj16V Actually I have always been in favour of PR. As for Boris, I didn't vote for him in 2019 and felt disenfranchised when the Brexit Party stepped aside. I understand why, but Johnson was always going to betray the country. It's what Tories do. And likewise what Labour does. People deserve to have their voice heard irrespective of party. PR facilitates that.
