I never got why double d hung out with them. Everyone seems to not mind him, and all the Eds do is torment him and get him in trouble. They do all make a wonderful team. But i would have to assume that when they get older, Double D would probably go elsewhere

Some of the visual gags and sheer force impact shots (injuries) are insanely good. Any reality breaking moment or character going on a rampage really gets its force translated into motion perfectly. The sound effects are great too, a gag unto themselves. That's not even getting into some of the adult themed jokes and humor, which are absolutely there. I don't look back on many childhood shows fondly, a lot of them seem cringey now or seem to peddle politicized messages... but Ed, Edd, and Eddy holds up completely, much like early Spongebob episodes.

The thing about that is Eddy basically told him it was a joke. Eddy said that Double D was sick as Ed. Double D didn't get it for if he did, he would've realized Ed would've fell for that same trick. So in a sense technically, Double D shouldn't have dropped Eddy's spare key. Wouldn't be surprised if Eddy revoked Double D spare key rights for awhile till it was earned back.

I’m 30 and I remember this show fondly, I can quote all the memorable lines from the show “How can my feet smell if they don’t have a nose.” “I dare you Eddy to sprout the wings of a bay and stomp like a zombie while whistling row row your boat though a car wash.” “I am one with my shoe size” “All done did I do.” (Salutes to show hand tied together with Kevin’s shoelaces and Kevin falls to the ground.) And my favorite line from the show ever… “meet my clam, bobo.” ( pulls out a man sized clam that he then throws all the kids that aren’t the Ed’s into later as well as himself as Rolf then runs away, legs sticking out of the clam.

I’m 24 too! But I’ll turn 25 next week! Ed, Edd, n Eddy was always my go-to as a kid. Of course I would script and mimic some noises, and frustrate people because of it. But hey. It was the light at the end of my dark tunnel.

Which drove my buddy holding security mind numbingly insane to the point that after five hours straight of me digging and saying “dig a hole” in Ed’s voice he ripped the shovel out of my hands, shoved my rifle into my chest and said “just please hold your sector of fire and shut the fuck up”. The fact that there’s a duo between these two even though they’re always in a trio, really says something about their friendship with each other compared to their friendship with Double D.

To be fair, they met each other first. Double D moved to the Cul-De-Sac at 3 - 4 years and Eddy and Ed were already hanging out and talking quite closely to each other, implying their friendship preceded Double D's arrival by arguably their whole lives up until the age of 3 - 4. I think it just shows that little bit more they've grown up with each other. It's also because even if Eddy has more common sense, Ed and Eddy are on a closer intellectual level, whereas Double D is pretty much unmatched in the intelligence department by anyone his age and likely many people many years older than him.

Eddy and Ed are as far as I'm concerned, brothers separated at birth. They're better siblings than their bioligcal siblings. They both may be idiots and responsible for most of the wrongdoings they have done, but, they make a great duo.
