One of the greatest fighters and a Master of Martial Arts

How on earth did you determine that he is/was one of the greatest fighters/masters on earth? When do we see videos, or are there any videos of him in an actual street fight, or a competitive event in which we can see these “great skills” of his put to the real test? Remember, everyone looks impressive when they are using their own students or someone else’s students who is not resisting.

He's pulling everything and even then you still feel the ferocity of his strikes.

+Kevin Parsakia the ferocity is only perceptive, it comes from the sound and the sound comes from his slapping his own chest.

+Rizal Djohan Agreed! I'm referring to his ability to control his strikes like that. My friends teachers teacher had the chance to work with him back in the day. My teacher also worked with him in Hawaii. Grand Master Agrella. Said he was one hell of a fighter.
@fcardvark
@fcardvark 8 жыл бұрын
I believe, but could be wrong that Master Parker is using the concept of reaction force when you hear him slapping himself with the opposite hand while striking. I also believe he uses his body as a springboard so he doesn't have to use his muscles to slow down his hand movements in between strikes.

Funny how a bunch of keyboard warriors can look at an old video and decide someone's worth. This man was a badass and anyone that ever stood in front of him knew that. Trust me on that or not, but you don't know what you don't know. Everything he did, he did for a reason and when you have the knowledge it makes sense.

Ron Chapél Exactly Mr. Chapel people don’t realize this is a training seminar showing the movements not an exhibition. I never got to meet SGM Parker but it is clear to see he moves with direct intention and explicit power. Like yourself and his higher ranking black belts it was passed on. “To hear is to doubt, to see is to be deceived, but to feel is to believe”- SGM Ed Parker

It’s curious how such a powerful man could only contain his life force in that body for less than sixty years. You can kinda see here when he gets up that he’s out of shape, having a hard time getting up without using his arm to brace himself. Would never want to receive a strike or kick from him. What a work horse

Rule number one in Martial Arts.... Never show what you know outside your circle of followers, if you have to do it always less information is better, otherwise your enemies will destroy you. This is the problem when you show too much outside your circle....you become vulnerable to criticism.

No he was not his bodyguard he was elvis's garnd master. Gil Hibben, and a few other Parker black belt's were part of the Memphis Mafia and Elvis's personal bodyguards. Elvis and his wife Priscilla were students of Great Grand Master Parker in his West Los Angeles School or Pasadena school THAT I'm not to solid on.

@@tonywilson4339 Mr. Parker, according to him, was NOT Elvis's bodyguard. Elvis was a student and Mr. Parker often traveled with him as did others. Elvis had a cadre of bodyguards, some of which were also Mr. Parker's students. Once again, according to Mr. Parker himself, he was not Elvis's bodyguard, that was what the press called him.

@@kybone25 If you closely at Ed's right foot, you will see that he stepped on the edge of his foot which slipped out underneath him and caused home to loose balance and fall. Had he stepped correctly, he would have maintained a solid base. It took me several times to catch it because I really had a hard time understanding why he fell. It also didn't help when the assistant also tilted him off balance as well.

@@fredvela6994 keeping in mind that Mr. Parker was training in judo before he started training with William Chow in Kenpo. To me it looks like he was doing an inward foot sweep and take down. He had already stepped on and pinned the other foot. Standard judo to me.

ED PARKER IS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROMOTION OF MARTIAL ARTS AROUND THE WORLD AND HE IS AN INNOVATOR. STOP AND THINK HE WAS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE WORLDS ONLY TWO SUPER STARS= ELVIS PRESLEY AND BRUCE LEE! ELVIS LOVED MARTIAL ARTS AND PROMOTED IN HIS PERFORMANCES, AND BRUCE LEE CHANGED THE WORLD.
