My mom died in a car accident when I was 3 years old. I was in the same car when the accident happened. My aunt told me that they found me below the legs of my mom as if she tried to protect me in the last moment. My aunt took care of me since then and adopted me. Now when I refer to "mom" I think of my aunt. I am grateful to be blessed with two moms in a life time. Thank you for the song, Ed. I really appreciate it.

Wow, I guess since you were 3 you weren't very sure of what was happening but just know that parents are the most important thing in life and they are the ones that raised you and tought you your ways of life, My mom had surgery and almost died I was so careful with her at the time and I had no idea what to do I was so scared of loosing my mom that I just stayed in my room and cried. Now a year later I listen to this song by my favorite artist and I cry every time, Thanks for this song Ed it makes me feel much more appreciated to have a mom and father that love me very much Hallelujah!

My great grandmother passed away 1 month ago today as you can imagine I’m young, and my super Nan meant the world to me and she was one of my favourite people, this song was played as we placed a rose and said goodbye at her funeral in a message she had written she said until we meet again my loves, so until we meet again super Nan I love you ❤ 🕊️

"She was in a hospital near my house where I was making the album so I saw her quite a lot while making the album and she passed away while I was in the studio. Nikko Angel on dutch radio he said that he always writes a song when a loved one dies. that way he gives it a place in his heart. and the song is meant to be a tribute to that person. (this case it's the grandma)

Take it from someone who lost his mum, when he was 9. It's truly world destroying. There's no way around it. And contrary to popular belief, time doesnt heal wounds. But it gets easier to accept. One day, it's going to happen, but keep in mind all the good you had with her. All the times she made you smile, laugh comforted you when you were down, guided you when you were lost. And to top it off, I wish you the best year in your life to come. Keep your chin up :)

My mom is, in every sense of the word, a superhero. At 10 my dad got sick and lost his ability to walk. My mom became the provider of the family and worked so much to give us a good life. When I was 12, she was diagnosed with cancer. Even after her double mastectomy, she forced herself out of bed and into the car because she was the only on that could take us to school. Recently, her cancer has come back. Things aren't looking up. My mom always told me I could sing, but I've never been comfortable doing it in front of other people. I told myself that if she does go, if i find the right song, I would sing at her funeral... I found the right song :)

In 2017, I first heard this song while on the way to the hospital to visit my mum, who unfortunately lost her battle with cancer soon after. 6 Years later, and I'm revisiting this song for the motivation, as I have now begun my own battle with cancer. Caroline Triner you should appreciate :) i never had the chance to met my big brother. but he made my family closer. we fight and i feel often alone. but there is not one thing i wouldnt do for them. because i know what it feels like to live with a hole in your heart. and that is the difference between friends and family. you cant miss a friend you never met. it's a big pain when i think of him, but i like it and i will never forget him

I just found that out when I was looking for songs about grief and loss because about 2 weeks ago I lost my grandmother, she was my last grandparent alive and I was very close to her as I was the oldest grandchild. It was hard watching my mom do drugs in the kitchen and hugging her before she was carried out on a stretcher. That was the time I felt my moms skin. I would give anything to go and be able to stop her

I remember listening to this song when it came out thinking how sad it would be if I lost my mom and how this song would means a lot tomorrow me. Fast forward a few years and she just passed away a few weeks ago so now I listen to this and instead of sadness it reminds me of how much love she brought to the world. I'm 18 now, just lost my mom. She was 50, still so beautiful and strong. She wasn't feeling well in her last days but it didn't seem urgent. My father was sleeping next to her... Ready to take her to the hospital in the morning, yet he wakes up to her dead body. He started screaming and I ran into the room, to find her cold already. I screamed for her to wake up... She didn't, she was long gone. Mom I love you so much may your soul rest in peace next to your beloved father whom you griefed on. Now I grief the both of you, my grandfather and my mom.

I know we are all going to do through things like this many times in life. Being 6 years old when you loose your mum is heartbreaking, now being 14, it still hurts. You've been gone longer than I was alive for. Thank you so much for holding on until after my birthday just so I could have a happy birthday but unfortunately, you died 8 days after, I haven't had a good birthday since my 6th. In my opinion, you were gone way too soon. I'll never ever forget those 6 years I had with you mum, you're my hero. If I could turn back the time to when I was born to do it all over again, I would, in a heartbeat. When you died, my heart did too. Maybe one day you, dad, me and the boys will be together again. Dad hasn't really been the same since you died. Because you wanted him to be happy, he moved on, but I know he still thinks about you. I love you for eternity 😭👼

I lost my mom to covid on the 4th of July this year. There are so many words that are left unspoken. Everything is empty without you and I feel so lost. I just want to tell you that I love you very very much and I'm so sorry for everything. My granny passed away six years ago. I remember we were all feeling emotional, my dad as well, but I didn't start crying until the end of the service when this song started playing and I remember just brawling my eyes as we got up and started walking our way out, because I knew that I lost someone so very close to me.

Adriana M lost my gran 9 years ago due to cancer. her funeral was Xmas eve that year. Christmas is not the same without her 😘 this song makes me cry so much! reading the comments does too 😘

In 9th grade my marks were poor, 59% everyone was angry, only my dad encouraged me to score better in the 10tg grade, i scored 93%, but two months had passed since my dad's death. I hope he's proud
