Hoai-Vi Nguyen It's totally out of beat, when he comes to the "So tell me when it kicks in!".. It seriously sounds sooo bad, that I had to switch to another sound. And I have never done that with an Ed Sheeran song before!

To be fair, i think that is mainly due to the bad quality of the video (or recording), its just off sync and sounds just off.

The album version was remixed by Rick Ruben, the guy who did Adèle album. You can recognize his style.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to point out this song was written by Sheeran, Rudimental and a couple of Snow Patrol guys. I hope it sounded better live than here as the studio version is superb and usually Rudimental are spot on.

Yeah! I thought I was hearing something way out of tune, 3:00 , the bass is a semitone from the real notes and its sounds awful lol ! XD

I'm so glad to have found your comment! I thought that I was going crazy! I think they had trouble with the backing track. In fact, I think it's the reason they restarted the song. It sounds like the bass, and a few other synths are a half step lower than the live instruments. I wonder how that happened!

Was there and I don’t remember it sounding so shit in real life. The whole festival went quiet a couple of minutes after this as lighting struck one of the stages!

I was wondering if it was necessary to interrupt Ed once he had already started his song. The reason, audience needs to clap, yell and show more enthusiasm for Rudimental & Ed playing this song together. What? Could just call this collaboration as Ed & RUDE playing. Can someone give me the short version about the dude running around with a mic. Clearly he doesn't sing or play an instrument. Don't get me wrong, he seems very upbeat, always smiling & jumping around, so very positive force on stage. But, there has to be more to it.

***** Rewinding tracks is a very common thing to do in Drum and Bass mixing. Whether he meant to or not it kind of plays to the Drum and Bass feel of the track. I would suggest reading up about their band to see who he is I'm afraid I don't know so won't pretend to :-)

This is an amazing song, but Rudimental are not up to supporting Ed. I wish I could hear this live with Ed and Coldplay. That would be awesome. Eds solo version is much better anyway.

I feel like that one back up singer is trying to outsing Ed. I like the studio version of the Rudimental collaboration but not this, it sounds weird and it might just be the bad quality but I don't like it. Ed really is a one man show and this live performance kills the song for me. The studio version of this collaboration sounds so different to me though. Ed should stick to being a one man show, he's so much better by himself.

Such Name Thanks that explains so much. I absolutely love this BRIT AWARDS. I don't think Ed's a bank kind of guy, he's always kind of in his head for his music. I will say that his live versions alone somehow always end up faster paced than his recordings. His performance on an awards show (forget which) when he played with John Mayer, Herbie Hancock with Quest Love on drums was incredible. His is such an amazing talent that i watch his performances knowing they will be as epic as the ones from the 60's. He may not promote social change

That's a shitty version of the song. I can barely hear Ed's voice or his guitar. Rudimental completely miss the point of the song. You can clearly see tha Ed is not enjoying playing with them as much as he enjoys playing the loop pedal version, which is 100 times better than this one. Take a note, Rudimental: THIS SONG ISN'T DUBSTEP!!!
