A great, lightweight, no nonsense approach to an EDC bag, refreshing to see among loads of videos showing complete overkill loadouts that neglect essential items in favor of two or more versions of fancy things.

Actually love ur kit! Very practical, no overkill. Love the urban idea that this works if my car breaks down. No need for 3 thermal blankets, 6 ways to start fire and 4 different knives. Plus if for some reason the world really does go to shit, u have enough to help get u home. Thumbs up. 👍👍👍🏾👍🏾

Great job! I also use a similar bag and it can be carried behind or in front. I have added a couple items extra: 1. Chapstick or such 2. Headlamp - make moving at night hands free. 3. Pepper spray - just in case someone gets in my space. All in all I really like your ideas.

Very nice kit and presentation. I like the binoculars idea a lot. Since you mention water is key for survival, and I totally agree, I would recommend having water purification tablets, a life straw, or some type of filter as a backup. One other thing would be a shelter such as a space blanket that can double as a tarp. Again, nice job and awesome bag.

Good job keeping it simple for every day randomness that may come up. Have to second what a previous comment said about additional boo boo supplies, especially when you mention a family of four, good odds you experience more ailments regularly than tylenol will handle. I carry, and recommend; a couple benadryl tabs good will help relieve itchiness and puffiness not only from allergies but also ease itching from bug bites and ivies. A couple anti diarrheal pills, it can be deadly if you're dehydrating faster than rehydrating at least you can attempt to stop the dehydrating from this messy situation. Also i carry some pepto bismol tabs for the acid indigestion, its labeled as multi symtom including anti diarrheal but thats already covered, i just use for upset stomach and heartburn. Bandages i mostly do not carry regular band aids for myself, maybe for the kids. If i need a bandage its going to be for a messy deep wound. I carry a few steri strip wound closures, a few knuckle bandages and a 2 inch gauze, you already have tape. Neosporin or triple anti biotic for those wounds as well. If we add every item that everyone suggest we might as well just skip the edc and go right to the 72 hour bag. I like the absence of three or four knifes in your bag and the basic simplicity. But 1st aid is a biggie, cant help ourselves or anyone else if we are miserable or in pain with no way to ease it. That said, i just need to make it to my car where there is a large stash of supplies, medical, tools, fire starting, shelter.. So my idea of edc is basically in my pockets. But. I put together EDC's for family, in hopes they will have at least the minimum in their car because i told them they better keep what i give them in their car. Its an OCD hobby for me...

Again very well thought out brother...Gloves a great addition!! One thing from my experience from natural disasters, cell phones are ok, but not reliable. Not saying don't care it, because it does work, but don't expect to make a call. For example, a local disaster in the area, a major bridge collapsed and and cell service, calling in or out, was overloaded, wouldn't work. But, text messages would go out in time. Just like the Katrina deployment, text messages were the only form of non-sophisticated type of communication, but took roughly 6 hours to receive. Just food for thought. To many people rely on cell phones these days, and don't understand there capabilities. Great video and presentation..

Not only keep the mags out of sight, but hanging loose like that, rounds could be knocked out and lost. Also, hollow points are better than FMJ rounds for self defense.

I'm thinking a lot of thought went into that kit and it looks nicely done. I would make a few suggestions though. 1: I like the crank charger, but pack a real charger too you might find power and that is a lot less work, also pack a 12v charger for cars. 2: bring a more durable water container, those puncture easily and leak out in your bag. If you are on a budget I've seen folks on YT using Gatorade bottles but I prefer a 32oz hardwalled container like a guyot or nalgene. 3: all your food is very protein based meaning you will need lots of water to eat it. Bring more fats like cashews rather than peanuts and maybe some trail mix that has dried fruit. 4: include $100 split into a roll of quarters,a $50,a $20, and 20 in $1's you won't be sorry.

The handkerchief is the most important part of your EDC. It has more uses than everything put together. I feel no matter what sort of EDC or those who do not carry a EDC should still have a handkerchief. Even if it is being used as a piece of fashion, it should still be on every person everywhere.

I absolutely disagree with the statement that multitool quality isn't important. If the bag can fail, the multitool can, too. If you feel you need to carry something, ensure it's going to work. Otherwise, you may be unable to use it, and you can blame the guy who told you it didn't matter what the quality was. ;-) If you survive, anyway. Love everything else, though. Great video.

@ChrisC30 7 жыл бұрын
I run a pricey bag, though. So, I guess for me, what matters most is the 'total package'. If you put together everything the way you want it and are satisfied with it, that's what matters most. Anything can break. That's why we carry spares.
@robertthetexan8537
@robertthetexan8537 7 жыл бұрын
Well, because I feel like commenting on every single post you made and disagreeing to some point, I'll disagree again. ;) I would discourage going with a cheap bag. In all honesty, when you're talking about survival or being able to take care of yourself in less than ideal circumstances, you really don't want to cut corners. I see it with guys who buy cheap guns, cheap optics, cheap bags. Buy once, cry once...
@robertthetexan8537
@robertthetexan8537 7 жыл бұрын
Agree Chris. My philosophy is buy once, cry once. There may be areas to cut costs, but I prefer to do that buy buying bulk, or buying an aesthetic "blem" rather than buying a cheap item.

+Z.R.US Hey Ryan,Thanks for your kind words and sub. I wanted to let you know that a company by the name of "mag guts" has an aftermarket magazine spring and follower for the Shield 9MM that will allow you to add one more round in the standard or extended magazine.Also check out Underwood ammunition. They have some newer devastating rounds one that is a fragmenting bullet and another that is a solid round with no hollow point but the cavitation of the bullet will cause a wound channel around double the size of a standard hollow point. The prices are great. Keep making the awesome videos and I hope to see you over at everdaycary.com.

Nice kit. A couple of things though. The most used items from my bag seem to come from my boo-boo kit. Assorted band-aids, 2x2 gauze pads, sanitizing wipes, steri-strips for deep lacerations, etc. I've fixed up myself and others on many occasions, and it really takes up no room and weighs nothing. You already have the pain-killers, alcohol, and bandanna. Also, along with my other protection, I carry pepper spray as a non-lethal option. Lastly an emergency blanket is small, light, can keep you dry, or warm up a person in shock among other uses. Just a few suggestions that I carry. Peace.

Someone in the comments already meantioned this, but I figure I would repeat it as it's a fair concern. With the patch, magazines and other assorted things visible on the outside, it could make the bag look interesting to others, it also could potentially give away the fact that you have a weapon. It may not matter overly much but It was a good thought. I'm going to make up something like this to have in my truck or take when I ride my chopper.
