This was the song that brought John Lennon and Paul McCartney together at the Woolton fete in suburban Liverpool. Paul knew the words to Twenty Flight Rock and this greatly impressed John (and me too!)

Why is Eddie not more well know? He only lived to 21. Do I Wikipedia (sorry) on him and you will see an amazing array of musicians who covered him - incredible! Thus, though many of the public has forgotten him, the rock greats never did!

This song has a lot of meaning to me because my friend lived in building that had twenty flights of stairs and seemed the elevator was broken down regularly in 1960's. This was Larry's favourite song. We're still fans of Eddie today!

Elvis didn't need to write his songs. His genius was the way he wrapped his glorious voice around a song. Eddie was good but Elvis was great. Eddie didn't have even close to the vocal diversity that Elvis had. But there's room for everyone in rock and roll!!!

Eddie vs. Elvis... why? They were both greats for different reasons. They took the look and sound of the day, everyone was inspired by each other but they worked their own style and talents into it to create the sound that influenced millions through the decades. C'mon everybody, Just enjoy the music!

I never knew that there are any color films of Eddie. You're the man, thanks. I have nothing else to say but: "Whenever I'm sad, whenever I'm blue Whenever my troubles are heavy Beneath the stars I play my guitar Just like Eddie. Now, troubles may come and troubles may go But you'll always find me ready Upon the hill, playing still Just like Eddie"

Found this little piece of trivia a while ago, though you guys might like it. But it dont take away the fact that this is one of the best Rock & Roll songs ever. Written by a gal as well....well fancy that. "Although the title of the song implies that the singer must climb 20 flights of stairs, in actuality he would only need to climb eighteen or nineteen flights (depending on whether or not the building has a 13th floor) to reach the stated 20th floor."

Eddie Cochran cut a dub (acetate) of "Twenty Flght Rock" and took it out to 20th Century Fox and they put him in "The Girl Can´t Help It". Right after that, Eddie signed up with Liberty Records. Eddie Cochran immortalized it when he gave it an electric perfomance in "The Girl Can´t Help It".

Actually, a single had 2 songs on it - one on each side - whereas the EP had 4 songs on them - 2 on each side. That´s why it was called EXTENDED play. That meant that they could also put classical and jazz songs out on small records (and not just LP:s). Usually one song on each side. (believe me, I was young in those days, yipee!)

Yep! And after that the true 50s Rock'N'Roll went downhill....and that bugs showdown continued. No more Jrry, Eddie, Buddy, No more baaad El of the 50s, no more Richard or Fats, no more Bo Diddley or Chuck (well he contimnued into the 60s with some grteat songs and the best was "Natine".... ut huah, then it was gone.

That's true, and I get annoyed as hell with all the idiots who say Elvis ripped off of Eddie. No offense to Eddie, but he was the one who ripped off of Elvis' style, at least in his earliest recordings, but who wasn't doing that? He's still one of the greatest rockers.
