Just because there were people that attended it, enjoyed it and gave an ovation doesn't mean what was being said wasn't problematic and in poor taste. If he was up there spreading neo-nazi rhetoric I'm sure there'd still be an ovation and there'd still be people walking out. People feel comforted when they hear they aren't alone in their bigotry towards another group that is so obviously rooted in hatred. I always say there’s 2 sides to every coin.. there’s usually always opposition to every issue and stance and you can definitely have civil discourse about it all but going up there and just calling gay people F-words and just being demonstrative in your stance I’m not something I prefer. I fuck with Eddie and I hope he’s killing it out there and making his bread despite being black balled but this wouldn’t be a show I would like. Paul Mooney I thought was hilarious in his approach even with it being abrasive but it wasn’t so brash that I would be uncomfortable or think negatively about it.. even with shit that I don’t agree with.
