Well took a bit longer than 5 seconds but really cool to see this specific technique, I always though that Eddie did that because he DIDNT have the mobility to do it like the other guys. Give more of Luke! I absolutely love this guy and he pairs well with Eddie

@@ApexOdyssey Yeah the main plates on the competition axle are huge. Those ones in the gym are not really plates, more like spacers, heavy to be sure, but not regulation plates or anything.

No elbow sleeves will increase your risk of injury for bicep and elbow tendonitis in the axel.... And compression aids blood flow... So you're having less blood flow by not using them.

For normal/natural people. I don't think that going to failure on the shoulders before log/axle/overhead barbell press is a very good way to go to be honest.

Thanks for the response! I understand that it's a competition simulation. And it works for pro level strongman. I'm just wondering about the effectiveness for 80-90kg natural athletes. When I go to/near failure on shoulders, my barbell OHP would suffer massively.

@@thecaptain5026 Of course you'll do less if you do high rep dumbbells first, but the press is never the first event in a contest. The whole point is going into the event fatigued in training just like you would in a contest
