Jobson, Wakeman, Emerson, Lord to name the best of an era long gone. Jobsons soundscapes and pure virtuosity on the keys let alone a genius in synthesizer cutting technology of the day sets these guys apart from all other mere "keyboardists" IMHO.

The others were no less great...I think Danger Money is better than the First U.K and I saw that group (with Bruford) at a free concert, here in philly, when they first came to the U.S....Bozzio is a better drummer than Bill...I love them both, but, ya gotta give the nod to the dimension Bozzio added to U.K...
@Chuckles..
@Chuckles.. Жыл бұрын
@@godbluffvdgg I saw both tours too, the original line up was far superior, everyone knows that. Bozzio is better than Bruford?, ha ha ha!, Danny Carey and Neal Peart both cite Bruford as as a major inspiration and influence. Peart invited Bruford to play on his 1994 album, "Burning for Buddy A Tribute to the Music of Buddy Rich", not Bozzio, then there's Bruford's enormous body of pioneering and innovative work that doesn't include playing in Missing Persons. My god where do you kunts come from?.
@godbluffvdgg
@godbluffvdgg Жыл бұрын
@@Chuckles.. I've had this same argument with fellow prog heads... Are you a drummer? I'm going to say no. Well, I'm a trained drummer for 45 plus years, what I forgot about drumming; you'll never know... I love Bruford and he's very important to me, and influenced much of my playing and made me a better " in the pocket" player as well as developing Off Beat tempos...But... Technically; Bozzio is a better drummer... I of course love Bill's work with Yes and Crimso more than Bozzio's work with Zappa and Missing persons but; Call a spade a spade. And I'm from Philly, thanks for asking!

Eddie Jobson has been one of my music idols when I was young. I did an instrumental cover of Carrying No Cross about 15 years ago that I recently posted on KZfaq. I hope by some generous act of fate he hears it. I'm no Eddie Jobson, not by any means, but he has been a major influence on my work. Thank you, Mr. Jobson. 🎹🎻
