Wow! Dame Kiri Te Kanawa was a music stand!!! What a humble Dame!

That tone is just so resonant and bright, yet it still retains that gorgeous baritone darkness. And Te Kanawa's comments and recommendations about breathing were absolutely spot-on of course - a solid breath support will only make this man's voice and singing even better.

I've known this aria quite well since I was 15 or 16 years old, but I don't think I've ever enjoyed it as much as in this rendition! Bravo!

Dame Kiri is most gracious with her guidance. Nathan has a lovely voice. Do hope we hear him on the international stage in the near future.

Cantar piano é mais difícil, mas importantíssimo. O barítono possui uma voz fenomenal.

Kiri is right about the breathing and support. This is key to singing and sustaining properly.

His vibrato regulated with the breath support!:)

Beautiful voice, not sure if he's a tenor, though.

Bernard Tan This is a baritone aria

@@jamesmcparland6400 What I meant was re others' comments about him sounding like a tenor. I think he has a nice lyric baritone voice.

Wonderful voice, but definitely not a tenor. Beautiful full lyric baritone.
@HyakuhachiPoundHou4 жыл бұрын
That should explain why he sang a baritone aria.
@benjaminwerth2 жыл бұрын
he is not "definitely or definitely not" anything. Few people are. Maybe he develops a lower passaggio turn, maybe he goes the other way. Voices can do far more than most care to admit.

Tenor, without a doubt.

What’s the name of this singer please?

this is NOT a baritone, he is just another failed Tenor like me and many others with lyric/spinto tenor voice
@albertosousatenor5 жыл бұрын
Tenor. And potentially a very good one...
@GeorgianClassicalMusic5 жыл бұрын
Tenor
@bradleymonroe64435 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Pretty much a low tenor. Possibly a heldentenor.
@camadamdam69395 жыл бұрын
mm it’s a little low for tenor. It’s more of a Baritone/Lyric Baritone piece
@GeorgianClassicalMusic5 жыл бұрын
Cameron Haywood yes This pice is for liryc baritone but he sound like tenor and and he is truly tenor;)
@bradleymonroe64435 жыл бұрын
@@camadamdam6939 Right but his voice sounds like he could transition into a heldentenor

Here is a voice with great promise. As for Kiri, she's really disappointing in masterclasses. All very generalised stuff that any decent coach could do. Have a look at the wonderful masterclasses given by Callas, Cheryl Studer, Joan Hammond and Richard Bonynge and you will see what I mean.

I think her note towards the end of the video about how he tends to breath is spot on.

From the sound of it, that’s the only advice he needed. Simply gorgeous.

Beautiful tenor voice. Why a bass-barytone aria????
@Tkimba23 жыл бұрын
Kiri is right about self absorbed conductors. They're almost as bad as modern(ist) stage director. This guy s speaking voice is very deep... I wonder if he s actually a tenor or a baritone.
