So many Zoomers love the Spinner Belt, but it only fit Cena. It’s entire design was modeled after a rapper’s jewelry, complimenting Cena’s rapper persona and theme music. Triple H, Randy Orton, and Edge looked so silly with that thing.

Absolutely, as a kid I hated it I think I was 10 (I believe it debuted in 05) and it looked so goofy to me. No one else but Cena could wear it seriously. Either everyone else it just looked ridiculous, and tbh even on him it wasn’t great it just fit his gimmick.

The spinner was a great concept. But it was just such a Cena design. It wasnt really a design that can suit other wrestlers' character, even if you did change the middle symbol.

The Big Gold Belt looked like a real WORLD championship. Even the WWE Championship from the same era looked like a serious belt. The Winged Eagle was my personal favourite though.

Its crazy to see how far Edge came along in his WWE career, he was a popular faction/mid card guy for awhile until being presented as a heel in fall of 2004, the Rated R gimmick worked well.

I think WWE wrestlers tend to forget that a majority of their fans are kids, so like spinning belt and all that seems appealing to the kids more then it would adults.

IMO customizing the WHCB for the champ devalues the belt, it should look similar to the big gold belt made of real gold, diamonds and gemstones. It should be something that screams hard work, dedication, sweat, tears, blood, prestige and valuable. In a way it goes against modern wrestling but I would like wrestling to adapt a championship belt that's won each year at WrestleMania like NBA, MLB, NHL, NFL. The WWE can have belts that change regularly but keep the WHCB to once a year at WrestleMania

Eh i don’t agree with it being a “once a year” type contest but i do agree that there should be a one “established” belt alongside the WWE title. I don’t think changing a belt devalues a championship or rank but i agree that the traditional World Heavyweight title had a major aura with it due to the history and you just don’t get that with a newer belt, much less one that changes at least somewhat with each holder. I mean the Universal is honestly just the WWE rebrand of the old WHT but like i said with the WWE title, it suffers from the fact that its new and changes based off the brand/holder.

I am 100% in agreement with Edge. Even as a kid I hated the spinner belt. I thought it looked so stupid, and really diminished the prestige a title had for me. It looked like a toy, I know kids love toys, but I didn’t like it. I can’t argue with the numbers, they did sell well. I just never liked them and still can’t stand the design. It worked for Cena but didn’t look good at all on other guys.

To me, the Spinner Belt was to Cena what the Smoking Skull Belt was to Austin: it fit that particular character, but rarely worked for other superstars who carried it during that time period. Sure, it looked silly and toy-like on everyone else who wore it, even after the plate stopped spinning, but guys like Punk, Miz and Edge made the best of it, imo.

I still remember as a kid I had a giant royal rumble for that belt with my figures and never let Edge lose but I always had Cena be the last man with edge. For some reason though my dumbass wanted Edge to always choke slam Kane out of the ring.

I think Cena having a spinner is the only custom belt that made sense since he leaned so hard into the hip-hop style. Of course followed by edge trolling him by putting the rated r styling on it after. I personally hate custom belts, it feels like it takes away from the original championship belt.
