This guy was my favorite Colt ever. When he came into the league, all people saw was the dreds and gold grills. But he was so talented and his football IQ was OFF THE CHARTS! He was the perfect backfield mate for Peyton. When it was clear that the Colts were letting Edge walk, I remember Peyton gave an interview on Edge and called him..."the best teammate I ever had." Considering some of the guys Peyton has played with over the years, that's huge praise.

But I know what I heard Peyton say after Edge was cut after the 2005 season...I was actually surprised considering Marvin was still on the team as well as Jeff Saturday and Tarik Glenn and other really good players.

When Faulk was traded Peyton said something about how grateful he was to him for helping him get through his rookie year.

Hands down one of the best hof speeches of all time.. and for this reason alone the amount of kids that will see that and end up playing football maybe even making it to the league.. he brought in new talent with that speech.. kids are gonna see that and be un afraid to be them!! He never changed I remember cryin over comments i read about edgerrin as a kid.. now the haters can’t say anything HOF for life!!! Edge was Peyton's favorite teammate because Edge was always 100% Edge. He may not have gone to the mini camps (optional), but when he showed up, he was always 100% prepared. Edge chose to keep the grit and grind energy he brought to football at it's roots. In Immokalee and Miami. When he was injured, he went HOME to Immokalee and trained there instead of in Indianapolis. He never went the "traditional" route. Ever. He refused to BEND who he was. I remember when it was announced that Edge would not be going back to Indianapolis, that Peyton went down to Miami and they both just went out on Edge's boat and talked. Edge was very clear about his and Peyton's relationship in this game. They couldn't be MORE different, but on that field, they were brothers. They respected one another and their mutual respect for the game. Congrats to Edge!

I’ve worked in Everglades my whole life. I know how hard life is on the south shore of Lake Okeechobee. Where Edge grew up is one of poorest but closets communities in the nation. For him to overcome and achieve greatnesses is a tribute to his family and friends in the ‘Glades!

When I was a kid, I remember being mad and stunned when the Colts took Edge over Ricky Williams in the draft. Then when he started doing interviews and I watched him play, he became my favorite player. Couldn't be more proud of him doing it his way. Congrats!

DO YOUR JOB! Don't worry about how a man dresses, or speaks, or what music he listens to. Everyone is different and that's what makes us human. In today's world, doing your job makes you stand out. You used to have to go above beyond to get noticed. Nowdays, with the lack of work ethic and everyone having this sense of entitlement, just doing your job makes you look like a rockstar. When Edge entered the NFL, I couldn't have been more honored. His appearance brought a certain peace to myself and many others that followed the NFL, but also had a particular upbringing. All is damn well possible. Respect to Edge!!! Proud that he was drafted and played 7 seasons in my hometown.

I really wish he was able to get a Superbowl ring. I think Jim Irsay sent him one when the Colts won it all in 2006, but I wish he was a part of that team when they won. And I wish he was able to win one when the Cardinals went to the Superbowl. So close.

Still haven't found a running back as good as Edge here in Indy. That O-line he gave a shout out to was the best in it's day. Loved his shout out to Bill Polian, who decided to draft Edge over Ricky Williams. Even though Edge left the year before the Colts won the SB, Irsay made sure to get Edge a SB ring for helping build that team
