two cards I have used to great effect in teysa are “shadows of the past” and “corpse dance”. they are both great mana sinks late game. especially if nobody can deal with a stray black market. as well the amount of card selection you can get off of shadows of the past is insane

Strong Lucifer vibes coming from Joey today 😂
@alvarox7864 жыл бұрын
Loved it. And appreciate the extra theatrics lol. I ended up building a human aristocrat teysa deck. Since most creatures I wanted to sacrifice were humans. Which led me to a more focused Teysa. Sometimes people put too much at too much of a mana cost to make use of the effects when they could just rush a better board pressence with more simple cards and start dishing out damage. Will try this config out!

When using a more token-based strategy, Species Specialist and Twilight Drover are very good. Another good sac outlet is Circle of Despair.
@nickgizzi58914 жыл бұрын
Circle of Despair could be good for politics too

If you like Circle of Despair, check out Martyr's Cause: They do the same thing, but Martyr's Cause has no mana cost on the sacrifice, and it's 2W instead of 1WB to cast.

I also have a hidden gem: Heirloom Blade, this one helps me to find all humans i need to do stuff like Species Specialist, Disciple of Bolas, Recruiter of the guard to draw cards, my afterlife Creatures and Xathid-Necromant or Pitiless Plunderer, my "you loose life i gain life" creatures and my recurse. And if i dont want a human, i just need one of my creatures i have less then 18 times like my elements or demons to tutor for the other part :)

Thank you for this video. It helped me a lot. I know you don't like evolving wild and terramorphic expense but be aware you have to include them for Sun Titan and Sevinne's Reclamation's "worst case scenario", which aren't on this list but I personally like them. For consistency I like cards with Transmute like Dimir House Guard but all them work because you can make sure to have all the targets in each CMC so you can pick what you need. The targets should be Sac Outlet, things to be sac and Payoff.

Soooo.... Little thing to say about the Command Sphere and the Orzhov locket. Why turn 3 ramp and not turn 2? Here I saw we have talisman, the signets, the mind stone (a personnal favorite in general). Instead of these turn 3 ramp, why not Wayfarer's Bauble, or for ramp and fixing fellwar stone?
@victorcarrillo21514 жыл бұрын
Omg awesome deck tech! Great video too! As I was watching some of this channel videos, I know you love golgari, any deck will you recommend from golgari without being very graveyard focus? It’s super cool when you manage to fill your grave but it really hurts when they remove it, with 0 mana sometimes
@Will_Morand4 жыл бұрын
Man, this deck looks like the lovechild of my Athreos Cleric Tribal deck and my Yahenni Aristocrats deck. That said, both are running Arguel’s Blood Fast. It acts like a Greed(though 1 more mana for activated ability) and turn into a land if your life ever gets low enough, giving you a once per turn sac outlet that’ll gain you life. I also like Abhorrent Overlord. While a 6/6 body in the air is nice, I’ve often found myself sacrificing it to its own upkeep trigger, basically using it to generate a bunch of tokens that can then be used to block or sacrificed for value as needed. Now, let’s see what secrets we can pull out of the Orzhov about improving the average deck of Lazav, Dimir Mastermind. Oops, did I say that out loud?

My absolute favorite deck to play. Minor nitpick, isn't Kaya (and I guess Tomik right now) the current guild lead while Teysa is the matriarch or the Orzhov family?
@makenawatkins3 жыл бұрын
I personally like Daxos Blessed by the Sun with Teysa to gain some extra life anytime a creature you control dies you gain 2 with Teysa’s trigger and 1 more when the token enters

@CrabBaskets4 жыл бұрын
Joey, this is fantastic! I thought at some point you would drop the accent and speak normally, but I am impressed and very happy you kept it up the entire video! You continue to impress us with such amazing skills! As for the actual list though, I am not the biggest fan of Smothering Abomination, I can see the potential of when you have a number of token creatures available to sac them for draws is amazing, but it becomes a situational "I don't know" / "I don't want to sac X" card if you don't have a decent board state to play around with. I am more in favor of playing Corpse Augur instead, which can give you so much more card advantage imo than Smothering in most cases. The other two cards I am not on board with are Butcher of Malakir and Harvester of Souls, and I totally understand why they are in the deck that they are definitely cheaper dollar wise equivalents to better but expensive cards that we are not putting in the average deck. My alternative for Harvester of Souls would be Erebos, Bleak-Hearted, it's a similar effect but you do have to pay life to get the card draw, but 2 CMC cheaper and I am all about lowering our mana curve. For Butcher, I don't have a similar effect to replace it with that is a creature. And it may be personal preference but I think there are other mass removal spells that could easily go into a Teysa list that people should consider -- my personal picks would be among Tragic Arrogance, Divine Reckoning, and Vona's Hunger. I did learn of some spicy cards from today's video which I look forward to trying out within my Teysa build . To end my little schpiel I would like to suggest a couple of unique cards I like from my own deck -- Cauldron of Souls, a repeatable reanimation on a stick and makes sacrificing more fun or for board wipes not set us back that much (I may be swapping this out for Wake The Dead); Thieving Amalgum is such a weird but wonderful creature if it lives through your next couple of upkeeps and get to amass some manifested creatures for you to sac or to block with and get to ping someone for 4 per each death trigger

Perhaps Carnival of Souls as a ramp option? 1B: Whenever a creature comes into play, you lose 1 life and add B to your mana pool. Seams like it'd provide a LOT of extra mana since it counts ANY creature, not just yours, and including token creatures.
