It intergrates the science of the lifecycle of the varroa mite, with the soft and hard chemicals available on the Irish market. It is designed to advise and help the beekeepers make the correct choices in the selection of varroa medication and educate them on where to find the most current up to date information going forward.

You can use formic pads as singles, 10 days apart. Much easier on the hive. While the snigle pad treatment do not penetrate the capped brood, it does catch the emerging brood/mites.

Great information thanks! For biocontrol ie organic farming systems do you have any information or planned investigations into use of predatory Stratiolaelaps scimitus mites?

Very interesting,you show a build up of chemical in the wax,surely even if changing this it will still have chemical left over when processed from the old wax that’s remade into the new sheets of wax ?

I guess it has to be sterilized on 140 C.

Currently we are killing our bees around Newcastle, Aus to try to eradicate a Varoa outbreak and keep Aus free of the critters for a little bit longer until the rest of the World figures out how to deal with them

The drones fly from hive to hive looking for princess queens and they spread the bioengineered destructor mites. Killing beehives is futile.

Is there a plant that verruca try to avoid .... I.e. verroa mutes not found near by with these plants are near. Thyme rosemary etc?
