The normal summons at the start of game 2 were on separate turns.

If you mill SOTR off Diamond Dude it only would flip up the monsters, but not prevent opponent from entering battle.

Obelisk by that time was very hard to beatdown. Whereas is also difficult to keep three monsters to summon it. By the Way, it is the nature of the game high cost for a boss monsters, different from nowadays "cheap combos to summon easy negators bosses"

Pretty sure for diamond dude you just get the spell’s effect without it activating. Don’t think you need to pay cost for vortex
