When I was a young man these kinds of songs about beautiful young women would get me going, including the later MTV videos. It moved me even into my early middle age. But now at my age, I look back and when I see this video of beautiful women, I think: beautiful young woman equates to high maintenance woman. Not worth it. I guess I got older and wiser.

Hey CozyHollow - Interesting trivia on this song. My brother and I saw The Grass Roots at a very small winery about 4 years ago. Only about 200-300 people total, the band was 20 feet from a grassy area where people sat and danced. It was early summer, wine, outdoors, and up in the hills…. just totally awesome. The Grass Roots sounded great and played hit, after hit, after hit. One of the best concerts ever. Anyway, they played “Love Grows” and it sounded great, but we were surprised they played a song that was not theirs. So after the concert my brother went up and actually talked with the group. Get this: they said their manager messed up only twice in the Grass Roots hay day. Their manager turned down two big songs. He felt these two songs where “not Grass Roots style”. So, The Grass Roots turned down Rosemary Grows AND this manager turned down Don’t Pull Your Love by Hamilton, Joe, Frank and Reynolds!!!! The Grass Roots have a lot of great hits, but they “should have” had 2 more huge hits. That is why they played Rosemary Grows that night… they were telling us, it should have been ours! Now you know the rest of the story.

Thanks Eric for sharing this awesome trivia about the song and the Grass Roots. "Don't Pull Your Love" does sound like a Grass Roots song. So glad you are still able to attend concerts by your favorite 60s and 70s bands.

@@cozyhollow I’m trying to hang in there. 65 but slowing down with a few issues. But once I’m at my concerts, I do enjoy them greatly. Funny, many artists (not all) from the 60s and 70s still sound very good today. Some of the greatest songs are from that era. Glad I lived through it and heard it all. Started out with a cheap AM radio, and now enjoy my nice 7.2 audio system. Boy, has audio technology really progressed. Be great 😀

Thanks Eric, but let me add some interesting facts about this song.. The lead singer was Tony Burrows who, incredibly, had big hits singing with four other one-hit wonder Bands; "United We Stand" with Brotherhood of Man, "Beach Baby" with The First Class, "My Baby Loves Lovin" by White Plains and finally, "Gimme Dat Ding" by The Pipkins. This makes Mr. Burrows the most accomplished one hit wonder singer of all time! Listen to those songs.. You can tell its his tone of voice all over them.. Take care everybody.. God bless the oldies!

Another astro-turf band thrown together by the label when they needed faces to go with the song. I don't think there is a single video of this song that is not stock footage spliced together, or the band playing an actual gig in front of an audience.
