Great video! I have been using Visual Studio Code with Fusion 360 for a few weeks and I really got stuck. This video really helped. Thanks

I love the " blah blah blah blah" obviously some sort of techno speak. I have to admit, it was about the only part of the narration that I understood. LOL My machines have their own cam software so I don't have to know how to do this. I think perhaps this is a good thing! Never the less I am sure this will assist those who need to go down this path. If I retrofit my lathe, I might even need it myself. In which case I will know which youtuber to ask for help!

Very helpful video. It would not work for me when I got to the point of clicking the cnc file it posted out of Fusion using the special editing post file. I clicked and double clicked the cnc file it created and showed in the custom folder and spent hours trying to get it to work, even installed it on another computer with the same result. What I finally figured out to get it to work was to change the setting for the Autodesk Post Utility that says "Post on CNC Selection" to the checked (on) state. All worked fine after that.There was no mention of that being a required setting change to get it to work as demonstrated in the video. Later I figured out from reading the manual (rather than depending on the video, stupic me) that highlighting the cnc file and pressing ctrl>alt>G keys makes the selected cnc file process if the setting has not been changed as described above. . I should have read the detailed manual rather than just depending on the video. Hope this helps any other frustrated users with the same problem.

Awesome! I was so lost when trying to edit my post with notepad. I hope this will help me add mist coolant Mcode to the fanuc post.
@dylanhughes92795 жыл бұрын
Update:After some fumbling around with settings, finding post.exe, and I got the auto line selection to work, then the edits were not so bad. I have now added m7 for mist coolant, and reformatted the start and end of tool calls to my preferred order of mcode. (No more hand edits). Also removed the standard sequence numbers and added a N sequence number before a tool change that matches the T number for Easyer navigation of the program on the machine.

under my CAM360 folder I have no post.exe file, any tips?
@FrancoCNC5 жыл бұрын
As i recall, there may be some hidden folders. Look at the example file path in the instructions. Use that example to navigate to the hidden folders.
@Dartmouth_CNC5 жыл бұрын
Franco yup I’m using that same exact path and I have show hidden files turned on, when I get to the CAM360 folder I only have several folders with no files below them which is where the post.exe file would be, I’m scratching my head on this one
@FrancoCNC5 жыл бұрын
@@Dartmouth_CNC Well, that stinks. If you can post in Fusion, then that exe has to be in there somewhere.
@Dartmouth_CNC5 жыл бұрын
Franco well I figured out why I can’t see the post.exe file, it’s because it’s only reading .cnc files and I can’t change it to read all files
