I recently started TM after watching a lot of Wirtuals videos. I played the training maps and some of the campaign. Dirt...different, but i'm sure i could get used to it. Grass...same. Ice...fuck that shit. I got headaches on the two training maps just to get silver, gold no chance. And then the third or fourth campaign map was also only ice...somehow i managed to get gold though. Then i heard about Micka and i watched the last four videos on the world records and it's absolutely insane in my eyes. Sure, i'm a bloody beginner and he plays for many years (i guess), but i also have no motivation at all to learn these weird physics. I'll probably continue just watching TM gameplay on youtube 😅

i know this is some insane experience going on here... but seriously, what is it that you have that no one else seems to with ice? is it just the experience or is there just some fundamental intuition you have that no one else does? insane.

A combination of what you describe + long-term determination. I'm good at learning mechanics on the ice surface. And I put in the time to master them as well as possible. I mean that's what I did over the past 2 years. Now i'm not very active and playing occasionaly till i finish my studies which would be around the end of september. Then I would probably come back on Trackmania at the end of the year as a content creator. That's what I wish.
