A voice like this, and singing like this, creates a sharp contrast with the blowsy distortions of late 20th century and early 21st century singing, by renowned singers like Jessye Norman and Pavarotti and Kaufmann---who took the fine art of singing and turned it into an extreme sport, with all the distortions of their voices and the music they sang which went with it....
