I don't think my computer was powerful enough to handle all the nodes in the deep fired thing so after I changed the audio part I had to render the deep fried video and distorted audio. it rendered at a whooping high speed of 9 fps. it took a minute to render. I also made the volume to loud probably and my ears kinda hurt. good thing volume warnings exist because it would be fun for anyone else watching that part of my video

Just dropping you a comment to say I discovered you today (Epos Vox channel link!) and I spent way too much time down the rabbit hole. Been using Resolve since early last year to learn to edit my twitch videos on my other YT channel - I still suck, but I suck less every time, and your tutorials are a fantastic breath of fresh air. Do you have a discord or anything? Already I can see new use cases and work flows come from your help. Thanks for what you are doing here.

When you switch from "published" to "tracker" for the eye glow, does that "published" refer to as it was created initially or something else?
@PatrickStirling3 жыл бұрын
Yes I don't know why it defaults to published, it's not linked to any other value before that point
@AvalanchePerformance3 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickStirling one more less related question. If I'm editing/cutting a bunch of dead space out of a huge timeline, is there a way to select the entire timeline and delete all the gaps with a hotkey or a button somewhere? Or should I really just close the gap after each one
@AvalanchePerformance3 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickStirling one more thing. Could you consider doing a video on creating your own formatting template? Specifically like a background with adjustable windows that I can just drop cropped/edited videos into? And where the text formattings are set to a custom one? I tried framing (to compliment that completion bar you made) my latest video and it took forever, and it's not even consistent because of how the zooming conflicts with cropping.
@PatrickStirling3 жыл бұрын
Sorry just saw your later comments. You can go to edit>delete gaps to do that or set a custom keyboard shortcut. I bound that to ctl-del. And I'm planning on making a video about setting your your own presets and templates soon!
@AvalanchePerformance3 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickStirling awesome, thanks. I really like that visual completion bar, is there a way to move that so it's not just around the video? I was probably just going to make different clips using it, then add those rendered boxes into an overall clip but didn't know if there was a more direct way.

@@PatrickStirling count on me ;) But seriously, I'm really glad you made those meme tutorials, it's hard to find this kind of tutorial with a good quality and a good explanation in DaVinci resolve. I'm editing with resolve for 3 years now and the only "OK tier" tutorial I have found on audio earraping is basically one guy showing how to make the sound saturate by making the audio as loud as possible. I think that is mainly because davinci is not so widly spread than the other softwares and also because it's mainly used for professional film post production, but I think it's just the most powerful tool to edit stuff because you make literally anything if you know how, and thanks to people like you it becomes even more popular. So please keep those videos up for me and everyone else here trying to use resolve, even if it's not for memes, I told you before but you are one of the few guys on KZfaq making these tutorials on resolve and especially with a very good quality imo. So yeah, keep that up you're doing a great job! I think I'm going to support you on buy me a coffee for that quality earrape

@PatrickStirling3 жыл бұрын
sorry about that. still trying to get a hang of teaching to a camera. and its a tough balancing act between trying to keep a video moving to keep the audience engaged and slowing down to be easier to follow. and then it does take extra work to figure out how to slow down. this was a tough video to power through and find the motivation for so it's probably not as user-friendly as I would prefer...

@@PatrickStirling I hear ya BRO. way back in the mid 80's had a young friend that knew the Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 1 forward and backwards. Low and behold when I asked him to slow down and show me what Key Strokes he just did he Literally couldn't do them slowly. He had gotten so used to them he didn't even think anymore he just did them by muscle memory with out thinking.
