Editorial With Sujit Nair | Karnataka: High Court Defers Arrest of Ex-CM Yediyurappa In POCSO Case

"In this episode of ‘Editorial,’ Mr. Sujit Nair discusses the arrest warrant issued against former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa under a POCSO case, and remarks made by the Karnataka High Court while staying the arrest.
The Court stated, ""He is not some Tom, Dick, or Harry. He is a former Chief Minister of the State. Is it your case he will flee the country? What can he do by leaving for Delhi from Bangalore?""
The single judge ultimately ruled that no coercive action should be taken against the former CM, particularly as Yediyurappa had committed in writing to appear before the investigating officer on June 17. The Court further noted, ""We cannot immediately conclude that there is a case for arrest and detention for custodial interrogation of the petitioner, who has been a former Chief Minister, is of advanced age, and has age-related ailments. Proceedings for arrest and detention of the petitioner are put on hold until the next hearing date.""

If a poor men did what Yedurappa did be sent to Posco law without any train. Yes, you can see justice being undone. The CJI should give lessons to all his colleagues on interpretation of laws. In Goa two ministers were accused in the JPC Scam. One, the PWD Minister Mr. Churchill Alemao got arrested and was in jail for more than 3 months. The other a CM, Mr. Digambar Kamat went into hiding,surfaced after more than 6 months and went Scot free with the Police , the CM (who was also the HM) silent about the matter. So here is enough proof that the CM is not a Tom, Dick or Harry but a Minister is. The Police and Court who got Churchill imprisoned should be pulled up by the CJI for degrading the Indian Judiciary.
