My thoughts on this interview and not a knee-jerk reaction.... Objectively, Lisa did okay, though she either deflected certain questions with anecdotes or just got caught up in its grandeur and totally missed the question asked. For the questions she did answer, she had clear and succinct responses. She played on her role as a mother to resonate with mobilizing females to her calling, presented that she re-align the PNP with the traditional "people first" socialist policies, improve education effectiveness and accessibility and bring unity to the party's internal issues through reconciliation measures yet she did not directly stipulate akin to her suggestion of a need to a more concealed approach. My thoughts on her main points: Socialist policies - This needed but should be balanced with a strong economy to give people meaningful opportunities so they can have self-respect and build a decent life. Something better than the modern-day slavery of call centers. How about re-igniting the technology-focused policies which made Jamaica a regional leader in the 2000's and tie with incentives for new business online especially in this Covid Era? Anyways there is a need for amenities to bolster the many who are strugging but socialist have to be carefully planned for paid for and not crash the economy or raise taxes to where it is nullified. Women who vote - It's a no-brainer that she did this but I say there were missed opportunities. Sister P is called that for one because of the respect she garnered as a "big woman" in the average Jamaicans eyes. I think Lisa has the potential to dominate her either directly or indirectly presenting herself as a hallmark of what women can achieve and should aspire to. The presence of someone like her is needed in our society project some needed decency, sophistication, and varying competencies a woman in Jamaica today. Dancehall has changed things to where lude raunchy "ghetto" behavior is totally okay. So mobilize the woman, lead and empower them well. Improve Access to education - This should not be hard but requires tool which are affordable and will last. Julian is great and the PNP has always prioritized technology. Improving its effectiveness is another issue which requires preparing young people with literacy and skills which will be useful now and in the future. Closing the door on party issues - Well I agree to an extent. One of the reasons why the party did so poorly is because "comrades" felt disconnected from the party and nothing to vote for. You need to reinvigorate your grassroots especially young people who are your future voter base. The JLP kills you in this regard and Mark Goldings knows this. Closing the door leads to doubt and murky waters, we need transparency and leaders with fortitude in this day. Important topics you missed: Health Care & Access Crime & Violence Food Security China-US relations Most comments saying Ms Hanna look and "sound good" but the modern comrade and potential vote especially young people need good reforms, cohesion within the party, and someone who can deliver.

Lisa, why you didn't tell sick Peter to step aside? The party constitution allows challenges, so don't talk like it was a move by younger Peter to move the challenge against the old boy Peter. The healing of the party is bigger than you, because you were also instrumental in the division. Mark Golding is the right man for the occasion, am man with integrity, and a clean slate. You scale is not clean, because you were investigated for some bangerang! If the delegates in the party makes the mistake and nominate you, not only will the division continues, but the party will be in opposition for a long time. Don't forget that the masculine engine of the party was not too queen on Portia's nomination. Phillips has no charisma, and that was his down fall. A leader cannot have a decent flock if he can't get the herd behind him. Phillips has shown his vindictive side, so don't sugar coat him as a rounded decent man. I am not expecting you to win the party nomination, bit if you do, Jamaica and the world will see if there's a vindictive side in your gene. I say that to say, Bunting and Càmpbell must be back in the food, and frankly Campbell is poised to be a future Prime Minister. Why is Jamaica importing so much chicken back, what happen to chicken farming in Jamaica, has everyone given up on all faucet of farming in Jamaica. Cost of living has excalated leaps and bounds, and if Jamaica can't go back to grow what you eat, and eat what you grow the country will be in a mess for the longest while. The party needs the energy of Bunting and Campbell, so don't doge the question. Since the passing of Ralph Brown and Harry Douglas, the party has not had a real vibes man,only since Bunting and Campbell came on the scene. You wish you will become leader. Mark has a major plan to source money for the party, and the acumem to set the party straight. I like your ambition, but this occasion is bigger than pretty face and sexy body.

So the way the leadership is chosen in Jamaica must be done away with. But Lisa doesn't have the intellectual grit for leadership, and it would be a damn shame is she is chosen over Golding. For me though, neither Golding, Hanna nor Holness are transformative enough to fix the problems we have in Jamaica. The truth is that the JLP would have won.
