Nobody did anything egregious if you break it down in chronological order. Soucy initiates with a push against McDavid. McDavid retaliates with a slash. Zadorov sees the slash and goes to defend his teammate. Soucy just being slashed goes for one more push against McDavid not knowing Zadorov is about to hit McDavid. Zadorov's legitimate hit (retaliation to the slash) knocks McDavid down which results in Soucy's intended cross check to the chest to hit him in the head. Nothing to see here - move along and get ready for game #4.

Looking at the replay in 0.25x speed soucy’s stick was angled towards Connor’s upper chest/shoulder region before Z pushes from behind. Connor’s level drops and soucy doesn’t adjust in time, hitting him in the face. This is retaliation after Connor slashes soucy with both hands. Immediately after hyman cross checks Z in the head, starting the scrum. I say soucy and Hyman should get atleast 1 game suspensions for cross checks to the head (Hyman maybe 2 since his was intentional?). And Z and Mcdavid should also get some form of punishment… or mcdavid and z 1 game suspension Hyman soucy 2? That seems fair

Speaking as a Canucks fan here. Although I hope they win the series, I do have to say that kind of violence against one of the NHL's best players is wrong. McDavid is not completely innocent, but Zadorov and Soucy took things too far. Hope McDavid is okay.

The dude wanted to cross-check McDavid high in the chest just under his neck where it's not going to kill him but where it hurts, BUT McDavid fell into it after the cross-check in his back, and that's why it landed in McDavid's neck and possibly chin. Unless Soucy's intent to cross-check McDavid in the neck, this is not as dirty as it looks. I don't think he caught McDavid in the face, it was a cross-check to the neck, and he's lucky he isn't injured. If it was in the face he would have lost teeth and possibly would have had a broken nose or jaw.

Every canucks fan is completely blind to the fact that soucy was all over McD and slashed him first then cross checked him..watch the full replay. Zad should have got a day off also.

There should be NO action taken by the NHL in this instance, because in the last game McDavid HIGH STICKED Hughes in the face. And afterward, Hughes was bleeding. And there was NO suspension handed down to McDavid. If NHL wants to ensure they don't create controversy, do nothing. This was payback. And now it's even.

This series will probably go seven games. Regardless of who wins, I believe Oilers are the 7th best playoff team right now, and the Canuckleheads are 8th. The Oilers goaltending will be better for the rest of this series. It couldn't get any worse. They will also begin getting more bounces. Having said this, I can't help feel that the Oilers will lose this series. I hope I am wrong, but it is hard to shake off the feeling. What an unlucky franchise. On the flip side, the Canucks have been very lucky this season. On paper, they should be a bubble to a wildcard team at best.
