Best signing by a GM in recent years, he has taken basically the same team that started the season to the conference finals! Kris has the ability to adapt and maintain calm, Dallas will be a strong challenge and we need a win in Dallas to keep the cup run alive, PP will need to come through! I was in Edmonton when the islanders won and Gretzky and the boys saw the ice packs on the islanders players after the game and said we didn’t have the same commitment they did, it says a lot and Kris reminds me of Al Arbour!

We always talk about players as being such massive additions to a team..but let's be real here..after Ekholm, who really elevated this team to a different level (for Bouch improved next to him so much), Knob is the next addition that was really needed. I still do not like the goal tending of Oil though. Skinner is good for the normal season but he is not a playoff goalie..at least has not shown to be one yet. He would be a great no. 2 behind a real goalie that could steal the show. If Oil adds a top goalie to their line up (not going to happen, they will have hard time keeping other pieces in place), this team could go on winning a few cups....they have a killer offense and having a killer goalie would just make them borderline unplayable. Anyhow, really happy for this coach....he's done well and deserves all the respect he is getting. Also his mannerism...great to see that there can be intelligent coaches who can serve as role models for the larger public.

yes, unless Skinner is replaced we don't stand a chance. Anytime the puck gets near him I automatically prepare for the opposing team to score, how many times must we watch replays where he's not even close to saving the puck? Nothing against him, maybe he can't handle the pressure, but I dont know why Oilers make things hard for themselves with him. Sorry Skinner fans.

Well we're getting a new GM. And, the salary cap is going up. I was looking at the upcoming UFA's - there's not many I would resign. So maybe we'll get our wish of an outstanding goalie. But they're few and far between. Skinner needs to watch film of Shesterkin (sp) and how he shut-down Carolina in the 3rd for the big Ranger comeback. That's the type of goaltending we need.

Mr. Knoblauch, my compliments sir. Brilliant to call the timeout and great for nurse to help out. Brilliant to keep the boys at the fast pace and full bore offence for game 6 and game 7. My only issue is Skinner. Pickard would have got a shut out. Be careful with Skinner and don't be afraid to pull him after 1 bad goal. He should have stopped both of the Vancouver goals. Now keep it going and I hope you play Pickard game 1 Dallas. Although the boys seem to block alot more shots when skinner in net lol. Cause they know .... Great job and congrats on winning the series. Now find the strategy that will beat Dallas. Be smart, be one step ahead, and adapt and evolve. Good luck sir. Keep Carrick in, you will need him. And don't bench McLeod, you need that fast heavy forecheck.
@tired_Draisaitl

Yes... if Skinner is in the net thats basically a free 2 goal bonus for the other side. One free one and then another as Skinner freezes up from the pressure Edmonton can't take it anymore, we're tired of having our blood pressure explode in the third period and our leads ruined. Nothing personal, just facts, best of luck to the Oilers going forward.

Chris, an incredible victory. You turned the situation around and it was great. Weaknesses remain and they are still the same. Chris, if you can't get Hyman out of the link with McdEe, you have to get him to play pass, much more pass with partners. He overexposed the puck again and stupidly threw himself when he had the opportunity to give a quick pass to a partner standing next to him and develop an attack more interesting. He makes a lot of losses in attack, which is why we don't realize McDavid's potential at the expense of Hyman's greed. Sooner or later it will be a decisive moment and we will not be able to score as much as we need because of the losses of Hyman. He has to play three times more passes, only this will bring the first link back into the game and begin to unlock McdEe's potential. You know that very well...As for Brown, make him practice one-on-one outs on the goalkeeper. His game is full of uncertainty, Perry would have looked better. Perry plays smarter and more technically. The best way to start with Dallas is to put Picard in the goal. If he misses a couple of goals, you will always have time to get back to Skinner. Do not become a hostage to the illusion that Skinner is a good goalkeeper, today in two periods they threw at his goal 4 times thanks to the team, then he began to miss again, but in his interview we again hear nonsense that he is good and coped with all the problems...15 shots on goal and you'll almost always see three missed, that's all you need to know about Skinner. Today he tried, he wanted to play well, but as I already wrote, it doesn't matter at all whether he tries, he's a good guy or not, the only important thing is that he's a mediocre goalkeeper and nothing is changing yet.

I'll give you the observations on Skinner. But Brown plays so well defensively and his skating is coming back. Perry can't keep up. He's better as a rah-rah guy in the dressing room but not on the ice. I can't comment on your Hyman observation because I don't believe he's a liability out there. His job is to stand in front of the net and screen the opposition goalie - which he does. But I'll watch him closely next game to see if your observation has merit. Go Oilers.
