The EDOX Geoscope was dubbed the FIRST TRUE WORLDTIMER when it was released in 1970. It is a stunning and colorful design, which caught my eye early on when I started to delve into vintage watches. Perfectly sized at 42mm (or 48 if you’re bold) with the intriguing two-crown design (famous from SuperCompressor watches), it is worth anyone’s attention.
Unfortunately, this specific model was already the target of fakers, which came as a surprise to me, since it is both not easy to replicate and I also deemed it to be a niche model. So, in this episode, I will take a look at a version of this watch, which is unfortunately not easily unmasked as a fake straight away. But with the help of a macro lens, we will get to the bottom to this.
Additionally, I will give a short intro on what made and makes EDOX such an interesting brand in the Swiss watch world and how the GEOSCOPE became relevant.
