@@astonishingpatch That's a fairly blanket statement of aspergers, there's a reason it's called a spectrum. Aspergers is also an uncommon diagnosis in the past few years, they're moving away from it due to the fact it did become a blanket label. There are many people that would be considered as having aspergers that are very high functioning and completely able to function in mainstream school and that is always the aim but not always the case. I've had students in my severe and complex school with aspergers due to bad behavior or inappropriate social interactions. I am not saying they're bad kids at all, it's just the nature of autism and as a special ed. school we could work to find a balance of what would benefit both them and other students whereas in mainstream they do have to conform to a more "normal" standard simply due to the large number of students that need to co-exist and there. Because they are commonly termed "special schools" they get the stereotype of only the weird kids attend but that's not true at all, it's just a school that is more equipped to give extra support to those that need it whether that's smaller class sizes for more one-to-one time or just being quieter, or special equipment for communication or physical needs, etc.

I got hooked on this series and am amazed at the way these teachers deal with the problems these young students bring on a daily basis to school and class rooms. The way they get together at a large table and discuss what students have a certain problem and they all talk about solutions and ways to aid these students in staying on track to achieve a passing mark in the problem subjects. They do not seem to give up and do everything in their power to convince these young ones that the end result is up to them personally as well as letting them know as a teacher I am always to aid if you just come and talk to me. They come across as really caring and am willing to put personal time and effort into seeing it through to the end. Amazing Dedication to raising self worth in one and all . A great school with tp of the line teachers. Hope this school continues for many future years .

I don't feel bad for Vinny. Drug's is the downfall of society. He had so many chances, opportunities and his choice was the other side of the law. Once you leave school and turn 18 you are no longer a youth and face dire consequences. When Vinny is released he will have it very hard, it is hard enough without a record. The mates he thought he had will not be there. Think about it for a second, he is in prison six years, now he is released to what? Possibly no home, no family, no job... To those who are reading this and are on the wrong path let that sink in.

If you're Vinnie, you feel unwanted. You think your parents don't want you, and that's a heavy burden. The onus is on his mother. Very sad.

I hate how the teachers always comment on the well-being of the school instead of the well-being of the student. People need help whether it's with emotional support behavioral support it doesn't matter people will need help at some point in school and teachers just sometimes don't understand that. Honestly I feel that some of these children are misbehaving because of problems at home and and because the school hasn't got a good enough support system for them.
