I guess it can go by either program or plan. In Maryland, it is referred to it as Individualized Education Program.

1st year teacher here--scored 100%. However, in my district the P in IEP is plan, not program. :) So I think Billy deserves full credit for that one!

Cassie Root In Maryland IEP refers to Individualized Education Program so I was going by what I use the acronyms for 👍🏼

In the actual Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) it is referred to as an Individualized Education Program.

I could see the hamster wheel in Billy's head frantically spinning as he tried to guess FAPE. Other acronyms to make them guess: FERPA, ODD, LEP, ARD

He did better than I did and I’ve been teaching for 12 years! In my defense, I teach in a private school and we don’t use all of these acronyms. I think Billy did an awesome job considering he isn’t even an educator. 🥰

This video was so much fun! I literally laughed out loud! It’s interesting how acronyms differ in different districts! For instance, our gifted and talented is called GT, and we don’t do common core (Texas) so our curriculum is based off of the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). Now I’m going to go test my boyfriend! 😊

Never taught a day in my life but got a 20/25. Two kids with IEPs, so I had to learn them to keep up! Also, in KY the “P” in IEP is “plan.” He got that one right!

Please tell Billy not to feell bac...I've been teaching for 6 years and I didn't know some of them! A lot of them aren't used as acronyms in my district, we always just use the whole term. =) Cute video idea. My husband wouldn't get any of them!

In Colorado we say Individualized Education Plan, but I have heard it both ways. I missed S.T.E.A.M., and N.G.S.S. I’m a first-year 3rd grade teacher.

This was so fun to watch lol One of my co-teachers just went through the new teacher induction and our district actually gave her an “Abbreviations Guide.” We made copies for like half our school 😂

I.E.P. - Individualized Education Plan makes more sense as each student has a unique one.

I am a 2nd year Fine Arts teacher in Texas and I got a 9.5 🤦🏾♀️ Since I am a theatre teacher AND I teach in Texas this was super hard for me. Our schools don’t use HALF of these acronyms on a regular basis. Texas has a ton of their own specialized acronyms. I’m not a KZfaqr but I may do a Texas version of this challenge with my husband!

A few that would be on the Texas addition... TEKS STAAR TAAS/TAKS (this is OLD school but should be worth 2 points at least!) TELPAS TEA ...as I think of others, I’ll add them. Some more non Texas acronyms BOY/MOY/EOY BIC ODD FERPA

Our principal was telling me today that our CARP was approved, I heard ‘calf’ which I thought was a bit weird but not out of the question as I teach at a small, rural school. Turns out CARP is a Curriculum and Assessment Reporting Plan. I think we need a) less acronyms b) less ridiculous paperwork that requires acronyms c) all of the above.

Love the video. The last five were tough for me. Billy did a great job!! I’ve got one for everyone. Two different acronyms but the same concept. ITIS or ITRT. My dad was one for ten years. Your hint is: my state did the first acronym before they gave it any bit of thought. The second was a rename of it two years later.

I'm an education major and at my school gen ed teachers have to take SPED classes.. I'm a prek-3rd major and I've had 3 required SPED classes. I think a lot more states/schools are requiring Gen ED majors to take SPED classes since inclusion is becoming more popular.

I absolutely hate acronyms. Billy did well...I have to think carefully every time I read documents filled with them. I’d rather write the full words out. (Psst.... you spelled “teacher” wrong in Parent Teacher Organization.... Billy should get a bonus point....).
