Edward was one of my favorite dancers when he was in SFB.

FANtastic, both dancer and teacher. Such quality and attention to detail, along with the pushing of technical and physical boundaries. And all of that apparently wrapped up in a teaching attitude of loving, supportive encouragement to go further still. Dancers working with this kind of teacher and opportunity are so fortunate. Was this session from before she graduated, or did she come back to prepare for competition after starting her professional career?

@EllisonBallet Yes, and that would make her about 6'5" on pointe :). The speed, the fluidity, and the control of her turns are just incredible. And yes, she is absolutely stunning. A lot of companies only take girls that tall if they are good enough to be soloist or better, but she looks like she can make it.

@georgeou That's right. Sarah is dancing with Eifman Ballet and in his company there is a minimum 5'8 height requirement for girls. Before she danced with HET in Netherlands.

Gordon... Ellison Ballet is a school of classical ballet in NYC, and Eifman Ballet is a ballet company in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Her facial features and the way she carries herself remind me of Leslie Caron....and that's a huge compliment....I'm also 5 foot nothing and jealous of her gorgeous stature!

She could also be model with her height.... My gosh she is stunning!

I've heard that the European companies take very tall girls these days. I'm guessing in the 5'7" to 5'10" range which would have been towering by the standards of 20-40 years ago. But the average European (men and women) is very tall today and the younger generation seem to be even taller. Even in the US, the young crop coming up in the schools seems very tall.

@emma41093 Although you gave up the pursuit of a ballet career, please don't let height stop you from dancing, even if only for the joy, the challenge and the physical benefits. If it's emotionally painful because of regret at not dancing professionally, and you want to stay away from it for that reason (I've known folks feeling that way), give it time, but keep an open mind and heart.

Also, what does having a page on Wikipedia or not have to do w. a teacher's or school's credibility or track record? MANY things in this world have no Wikipedia page. People are busy DOING things, creating things, bettering things, using their time that way rather than making internet pages about themselves (as useful as internet pages can be). Online promotion can be great, but we've far too much internet narcissism, w. folks feeling the need to document & curate their images--shallow. Just do.

Really? I think pole dancers do need much strength but they mostly show it off as sexy and strong. Ballet dancers do just as much but make it look so..easy. Light, airy. Maybe try doing some pirouettes sometime :) but hey, if you think it's unremarkable, they're doing it right. Ballet isn't meant to look hard. Also Edward Ellison is renowned for training up many great dancers. He isn't some 'peodo'. Maybe what's so great about him is he can take mediocrity and turn it to near perfection.
