Edward was a jerk to Bella but his feelings are understandable. He doesnt know of any other vampire that got a girl pregnant, as far as he knows, the pregnancy will kill her. He never wanted Bella to be a vampire in the first place but he doesnt know if he will be able to successfully turn her into one due to complications of the pregnancy. He is panicking, desperate and pre-mourning his wife. There are many husbands who prefer to have their wife than risk losing them to a dangerous pregnancy. He also doesnt think highly of vampires in general, that they are damned to hell and immoral. So he was afraid Bella would give birth to a demon spawn, that's why he is pleasantly surprised when he hears the baby's thoughts that its more human (and what he says as good) like Bella.

I hated they didn’t add the cut where Edward basically knocked Jacobs shoulder out of place after he reads his mind and knows he imprinted on the baby. I also understand why Edward was acting that way I think people forget yes it’s hard on the woman but, it’s hard on the man also to see his wife in pain, knowing she could die after all they went through to reach that point, possibly making an immortal child, plus that baby was breaking Bella DOWN. Great reaction you two 😁😁! You now see why Jacob was drawn to Bella and he never imprinted on her. He was destined to protect her baby. The baby had to be CGI since it grows so fast…and has teeth. They tried to make the baby look like both Edward & Bella but not the greatest. The wolves can talk to each other thru their minds…that’s why it seemed so odd to hear them…it’s very jarring at first. Edward was a virgin like Bella …he was 17 and from an old fashioned time. Edward was destined to be with Bella since he can’t read her mind…she is perfect for him.

I think the imprinting is better explained as in Jacob will go thru stages during the person who he imprints on stage of development. Initially because he found the person that he imprinted on when they were born he will feel the need to protect them as a parent or brother would. Once the person becomes an adult the emotions he feels will shift to romantic. The imprinting process happens to them due to genetics it has its basis on the best genetics for the survival of their wolf side. At least that’s how the writer found a way to explain how Jacob imprinted on Bella’s child.

33:20 so that was Edward biting thru the embryotic sac because even needles couldnt penetrate it and he needed to get the baby out. Thats venom injection number 1. Then the baby bit her. Venom injection number 2. Then she looked like she died and Edward starts biting her all over in her main artery locations. So remember the first movie when James bit her, and she had all that other shit happen to her with the broke leg and the glass and getting thrown and shit, but the worse thing she felt was the burning vampire venom from James? Imagine that times ten, but also her being frozen in place from the morphine finally spreading throughout her body. She was basically burning alive on the inside, and couldnt move or express it or do anything about it, and that lasted for Days nonstop with no rest until the venom burned thru her blood supply finally killing her.

With the imprinting, the relationship is 100% decided by the one being imprinted on, in case Renesmee. If all she wants from Jacob is that brother figure, then that is what he will be for her, even if that's what she wants from him for the rest of their lives. If she changes her mind about it when she is older and wants a more romantic relationship then that is what he will become. It's not as gross as people make it out to be, especially since she's still a baby presently.

The imprint shit is supposed to be a soulmates thing but no not in a romantic way unless it turned into that at a later time. It can still be looked at as grooming, and it doesnt help that the writer is a known Mormon and they maybe practice that sort of stuff, i say maybe because I personally dont know but i hear things, but that's definitely the weirdest part of the series. Oh yall edited out the part on the Quileute beach where Jacob and company were having that conversation. The briefly showed a tribe member on the beach with a single digit year old child that he had also imprinted on (they alude to it in the book). I doubt highly even in the year this movie was made that they would be so free and public with such a controversial topic if it was proven to be some sick shit.

It's not really in a romantic way that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee because if you payed attention to the beach scene the little boy in the little baby girl that was standing at the beach the boy and imprinted on the babygirl so that would be basically a protector not a relationship way. The only way it can be anything more if the imprintee which will be Renesmee changes it and she decides that she wants something more than a brother or protector in Jacob
