Snowden did the right thing. I'm American and I pardon him.

No, he didn't - he illegally leaked 1.5 million documents, most of which had specifics on actual foreign governments like Russia and China, North K, etc. And terrorists, nothing was shown to be wrong-doing, and nothing he didn't seek the appropriate whistleblowing channels.
@rajsmnt50487 жыл бұрын
what about spying on UNICEF, G20 summit, bugging Merkel's phone? are these not wrongdoings?
@mohmoony39187 жыл бұрын
The only harm he did, was to expose how Obama has not only been spying illegally on his own people, but all his so called "Friends" around the world too. Been 3 years, no one's started WW3. Things continued on as if it was no big deal. The sun didn't explode. The NSA are still tapping into everyone's dirty little lives to get their jollies. Trump - Give this guy his pardon, he's helping drain the swamp. You should hire him too.
@IHLWonk7 жыл бұрын
It actually hasn't been spying on any US citizens. FAA Section 702 targets non-US persons under investigation for terrorism. Patriot act's section 215 collected bulk meta data - but is not protected under the 4th as it isn't content of any communication, nor are there any personal identifiers. Also, to be requested such BR documents a person must be under investigation.

Snowden is a hero. Anyone who thinks he isn't, is a sellout. What he did, took tremendous courage.
@Law96527 жыл бұрын
Learn how to use commas, pal. And something taking courage doesn't make it right. It might take a lot of courage to fly a plane into a building, but I wouldn't celebrate the people who do it.
@dougdiamond57747 жыл бұрын
Teddy Graham There is a big difference, between murdering thousands of people and letting citizens know that thier tax dollars, are going to an agency, that spies on them. Despite what you might think, there is nothing more patriotic, than standing up to your own government, for the very citizens, it claims to serve. Unlike yourself, most citizens don't want to live in an Orwelllian society.
@Law96527 жыл бұрын
My point is not that he's a murderer. It is simply that something being courageous is not sufficient to make something automatically "right".
@dougdiamond57747 жыл бұрын
But he is right. People have a right to know, where there tax money is going, expecially if it's to a nefarious program, designed to spy on them.
@Law96527 жыл бұрын
I was actually being helpful earlier. You need to get to grips with how commas are used because you are using them far too much. The issue with what he did is that it compromised sensitive methods which the intelligence services use to safeguard us from deadly threats. It is clear that we knew where the money was going; we simply did not know how it was being used. We have to expect a little bit of discretion as to the disclosure of sensitive information.

They are just violating the constitution to overreach with their authority.

I’m sure you wouldn’t want me to know all your contacts, read all your emails etc., even if everything is innocent simply because I’m some random person you don’t know or trust. If this country is a country of democracy, and the right way is still forward, and truth are not lies, then if this is really America, this man would be here not be sitting in Russia, he would be here in America, living, loving, standing not just as a man that is not considered a "criminal" but a man who has more Patriotism then our own President. Mr. Snowden is not here in America right now because we are all not in The Real America. Once the Real U.S.A. steps forward maybe Mr. Snowden can back. If he does not get pardoned for what he did for US the people then that day we will be in The "Real America"

Dk Kevorkian Trump said he's a traitor who should be executed.
@col.cottonhill66557 жыл бұрын
Connor Dunn no, a journalist paraphrased him saying that. he did call him a traitor. and said we needed to get him back(put him in jail) because he embarrassed the US.
@comrad93727 жыл бұрын
Dk Kevorkian He said he should recieve the punishment of a traitor which usually is the death penalty, although he didn't say word for word that he would use the death penalty. Although I don't think Snowden should be pardoned.
@col.cottonhill66557 жыл бұрын
Connor Dunn He deserves no worse of punishment than Hillary Clinton.
@comrad93727 жыл бұрын
Dk Kevorkian They both deserve to be punished.

let me just answer this question hero or Villan definitely a hero and a true patriotic person secound only to the first president gorge Washington
@hdaviator91817 жыл бұрын
Yes, patriotic. Releases information about government spying, and ends up in Russia. True hero of the cause comrade.
@edgardelgado59077 жыл бұрын
+HDaviator oh. i'm sorry would you rather him stay in the us and get executed for telling you that your government does somethings that goes against the constitution
@chrisc.74147 жыл бұрын
Heroes are not cowards that hide. A hero would be facing prosecution for his crimes. He's no hero... And you're being over dramatic. He wouldn't be executed.

Ryan Koehler how would u all know NSA has been spying on the american people and the rest of the world without him? Hes the biggest hero of the new millennium
@HondoTrailside6 жыл бұрын
Well if you posit courage and conviction, and if you accept that he was trying to advance the public interest as he saw it, then hero pretty much falls in place.
@thelegendkillersshittyduff13356 жыл бұрын
Vivek Rao yes.
@dsmyify6 жыл бұрын
The term hero is relative. Courage and conviction are not. We may argue over what makes a hero but we all recognise courage and conviction when we see it.

They don't have to, under the patriot act they have the discretion to lable anyone a terrorist. Detain them for however long and all of your rights go out the window.
