Went out at lunch today. Caught a 3- & a 2-pounder at the Occoquan River regional park boat ramp docks in about 10 casts using a wacky rig. Missed at least 2 bites. Largemouth Fishing has been difficult on the Potomac the last few weeks...I’m convinced.

I’ve used the bands for the last year and a #5 works best on a trick worm and a #7 for a 5-6” yum dinger. Hope this helps👍

I've been using that rig for years,. When my gfriend is with me, that's what I set her up with she's caught some big fish and the good thing about it is she doesn't have to set the hook they hook themselves.

Awesome video very informative and entertaining! ! Definitely enjoy watching someone get as excited about catching a fish as you do! Sorry but have to say this you jinxed yourself lol! Love a wacky rig! Finally broke the 2lb mark with it. I know small for you all but for me I broke my goal for my lake. The water is never clear always stained.I use heat shrink instead of an o-ring when I have it! Again thanks for the awesome video I look forward to Tuesday evenings! Oh BTW you would not even need to ask it would be sitting either in my hands or on the deck ready to go. I have a buddy that is pure power fishing and when he misses I throw back slow and hook up. Sorry long winded! Awesome video!

For a spinning reel on wacky isn’t not bad. You’re not taking up line terribly quickly on the actual retrieve so your concern is the fish running at you on the bite. You could get into a higher gear ratio but then you may retrieve that bait faster than you intend. Either way you choose you either have to be conscious of something, it’s just whatever is easiest for you to manage.
