WOW! Been a HUGE fan of open-wheel racing since a small child in the early 60's. Honestly, this is some of the BEST racing I have ever seen! If Bobsled and Luge is an Olympic Sport, this should be as well. I could see "Hollywood" making a wonderful movie about this as well. Cheers!

¡Está genial ese evento! Ahora, hay dos factores que les darán más velocidad: 1. El trazado de la curva: deben abrir tanto como sea posible el trazado antes de cada curva; de esa forma, cuando giren no tendrán que perder tanta velocidad al girar las ruedas. Es tal como lo hace un piloto de carreras: mientras más recto mantengan el auto, menos velocidad perderán. Si la curva es a la derecha, antes de girar deben estar lo más pegados posibles hacia el lado izquierdo de la pista, así no tendrán que girar tanto las ruedas. 2. La posición de los pasajeros: mientras más vertical sea el acomodo, menos aerodinámico. Tienen que buscar la manera de inclinar el cuerpo hacia atrás para que el aire pueda pasar más rápido sobre ustedes y no pierdan tanta velocidad. Esto puede implicar alargar un poco más el vehículo para que puedan colocar asientos con una mayor inclinación hacia atrás. Se ve que se la pasan muy bien en esos eventos. As others have pointed out, all that jigging backwards and forwards is a waste of energy. Jerking forwards increases energy slightly but moving back has an equal and opposite effect. There is one case where this 'jigging' will work, your cart / sledge / etc is on a slight slope but stationary due to 'limiting friction' - the inertia of you movement may overcome the 'limiting friction' and your vehicle may then continue to roll downhill. Above ~20km/h you should reduce your 'frontal area' by lying down; below ~20 km/h you can go faster by running and pushing then scooting. When catching another cart you should stay close behind them to gain the advantage of 'slipstreaming. I am pleased to see that you have some protective clothing and this also helps as every loose, flapping piece of clothing increases wind resistance. Your biggest advantage is tactics in the corners; a 'racing line' will scrub off less speed. Assuming excellent wheel bearings, the heaviest cart plus crew will accelerate faster but the reduced inertia of lighter wheels will also be advantageous. Como han señalado otros, todo ese movimiento hacia adelante y hacia atrás es una pérdida de energía. Sacudir hacia adelante aumenta ligeramente la energía, pero retroceder tiene un efecto igual y opuesto. Hay un caso en el que este 'jigging' funcionará, su carro / trineo / etc. está en una ligera pendiente pero estacionario debido a la 'fricción limitante': la inercia de su movimiento puede superar la 'fricción limitante' y su vehículo puede luego continuar para rodar cuesta abajo. Por encima de ~20 km/h, debe reducir su 'área frontal' acostándose; por debajo de ~20 km/h puede ir más rápido corriendo y empujando y luego deslizándose. Cuando atrape a otro carro, debe permanecer cerca de él para obtener la ventaja de 'deslizarse'. Me complace ver que tiene ropa protectora y esto también ayuda, ya que cada pieza de ropa suelta y ondeante aumenta la resistencia al viento. Tu mayor ventaja son las tácticas en las esquinas; una 'línea de carreras' reducirá la velocidad. Suponiendo que los rodamientos de las ruedas sean excelentes, el carro más pesado más la tripulación acelerarán más rápido, pero la inercia reducida de las ruedas más ligeras también será ventajosa.

Aqui no Rio de Janeiro uma corrida igual a essa seria muito difícil de acontecer. Tem estradas nas serras que seriam ótimas, mas aqui tem muita burocracia, teria que pedir autorização do corpo de bombeiros, as polícias regionais, teria que ter ambulância, teriam que utilizar muitos itens de segurança, o que tornaria impossível o evento

Me gustan mas estos videos , donde el que filma no gana la carrera , por que da un panorama de la dificultad que implica estar en un peloton ,sin propulcion mecanica y defendiendo la posicion , lamento que no ganaron , Pero el video esta muy bien .Fijate cuandola capucha de tela se infla con el viento , te frena un poco .
