It’s All About the Lobstah in Portland, Maine!! (New England/Canada Cruise)

Күн бұрынOur second stop of our New England & Canada cruise on Norwegian Sky is Portland, Maine. And today is all about finding good Lobster!!
We have our favorite spot call The Porthole which is right on the harbor. You don’t get fresher than that with the the lobster boats pulling right up to the restaurant!! Jason had the ‘lazy lobster’ which means it has been deshelled for you and Alisa had the lobster roll! So good!!
We enjoyed our day in Portland with some friends and were some of the last to get back on the ship. We stayed out on deck and watched an incredible sail away!! Ending the night with Jason singing with the ship’s band!

Love that you were back in my home state. Wanted to point out that you were in the "Old Port" in Portland and not "Old Town". There is a town north of Bangor named Old Town. Glad you were able to enjoy our beautiful weather. We love watching your channel.

As a native New Englander, I have to say... That lazy lobstah tail looked criminally overcooked. I'm sure it was still delicious, especially with all that butter. I love Portland, it has a very charming vibe about it. Glad you guys had such a good time!

we are in your video walking by while you were eating at Portholes. We were on the Venezia. I remember seeing you videoing and wondering what it was. Our friend is a subscriber and noticed us in the video. What a small world. Porthole is the BEST

Jason must have had a bug while in Portland. Looking at your lobster not being happy then eating it and it tasted great!!!!!!! Glad your taste buds were not affected. The Porthole not only has good food and live bands the prices are not sky high they are fair. Jason on board must have felt better thank God and the singing was amazing. Enjoy you both have lived in Portland for five years, love the cruise ships are back. NCL is my cruise line to sail especially with the solo cabin. The food is great and Cagney's Steakhouse the best for me.

Great video guys as always. l was born in Portland and the Old Port part of city is my favorite part. I go into the Old Port a lot because I live pretty close to Portland still. I kinda grew up on the waterfront docks area of the Old Port and most of my family were fishermen out of the old Commercial Street docks and waterfront and Portland is a great food / restaurant city especially if you like great local fresh seafood with a wonderful atmosphere.

Jason: Here’s the thing with that Lazy Man’s Lobster: you got no tomalley, that green stuff. It’s good. Also, that’s Ram Island Ledge Light across from Portland Head Light.

I live on one of those islands in Casco Bay that you sailed by- the islands and the Portland area are an incredible place. I'm so glad you enjoyed! (Although Jason is right to regret the lazy man lobster!!)

It’s old port not old town. A mayonnaise lobster roll is a Maine lobster Roll, a butter lobster Roll is a Connecticut lobster roll.

Was searching NCL as its my favorite cruise to sail on and we're signed up for the Norwegian Aqua in April 2026. But anyways I came across your video of your visit to Portland and being from Maine I had an obligation to correct a discrepancy. You was in the Old Port not Old Town. Glad you folks had a great time visiting Maine. Next time venture out and you'll find better seafood restaurants. Those in Portland see so many folks from out of state that they get skimpy on the servings

Great videos! A couple of thoughts. Hmmm... Chowder should be a little bit more creamy and less potatoes! Then again, Maine is a big potato state. Maybe try the fish chowder. Oh, if you can find it, definitely go for fried Ipswich whole belly clams. Good choice on the lazy lobster, a lot less work. A separate cup of butter would be nice. I don't mean to sound critical. It's just that I'm so jealous of your dining experiences. Need to do this cruise next year. Oh, great singing!!!

Come on guys you can see my house almost from where you're standing in the old port not old town. Old Town is in Orlando and no need to try anywhere else to eat the Port hole is the local place to eat in "THE OLD PORT"

If you want a good tattoo Portland aint the place lol. Jason Waterhouse in Auburn can fix those claws lol. There is 1 good artist in Old Orchard. And a great one in Newport! (BBs)
