Deutekom is like flowing crystal in this aria. I worked with Eva Likova in the late 80s early 90s. She was Czechoslovakian lyric soprano who sang with the Chicago and San Francisco companies (sang with Walter Weede a lot). Likova had similar brightness when singing Caro Nome, but not so large a voice I think.

Apart from "E strano...Ah, forse lui...Sempre libera" on the Belcanto-album, she never sang anything from La Traviata. In her book it says, that she got too emotional when singing that music and would never have been able to sing it without choking up...
