EFE rail Booster loco problem

This video shows the issue with the wheels which causes derailments, looks like the bogie castings are twisted or warped.

hi there. this is just not on, ! its not the first time there have been issues with these locos, i had problems with pick ups,[now cured], i am hoping the dealer will contact Bachmann to stop this clowning around.i suspect this loco was rushed in to production, will now check mine ! great video ! good luck ,

That is very poor and hopefully the replacement will be fine. 👍 Mike at ModelRailwaysUnlimited has provided a sound indication as to the possible fault. Should the replacement still be faulty then I wonder if the retailer would agree to you undertaking an internal inspection lest it can be rectified with ease? ⚡ With the assistance (or should I say patience) of friends had all five versions operating on Ewhurst Green without incident which suggests a degree of luck is involved! 🙂

Sadly this is the dangers of rushed models. I tend to find older model trains are better made from my experience. I picked up a 2012 Dapol Class 52 in Maroon and its a lovely engine. I am sorry to hear this has happened to you.

That's truly shocking! Do you feel inclined to check the status of the bogie tower clips inside? one of mine was adrift and this caused the bogie to sit uneven.

I was trying to avoid messing with it incase I broke something, that and I shouldn't have to. Thankfully it is now going to be replaced with another, so all ends well.

It is, especially when the promotional pictures for the loco show the same problem. Hopefully this vid will get it sorted.

No, I sent to the retailer I bought it from. They are now going to exchange it so I'm happy with that.

"HORNBY" becomes an EFEing roller coaster !!! The class 70's were actually nicknamed "Hornby's" by train crew. Clearly the bogie has been incorrectly assembled, and whichever dealer you returned it too to get the problem fixed was obviously in serious need of an Optician ! Return it to whomever you purchased it from, and demand a replacement as is you statutory right !

What a sh1t show, The rush to get stuff out before another company makes it is causing a lot a issues across the board. Shame that and i have one but not run it yet but it does and one wheel proud for sure.

This one is now getting replaced, I would think there will be a recall at some point.
