Exactly. You uneed to have long voluminous/strong hair. Otherwise it's just gonna look sad.. With mine fine hair, I would need extensions to even get that style and volume.

My idea of effortless messy ponytail - Open up hair, shake my head 2-3 times, bow down completely and gather all the hair, stand up straight and tie it all in a rubber band, forget about it.

My favorite hack, champagne cork in the middle of the bottom pony. It takes the tension off your scalp, and gives the pony nice support and volume without teasing.
