As I dutchie going to the Efteling was a whole happening. Growing up my parents struggled getting by but they always tried to make the Efteling every few years work, or we would go with school. Those visits were some of the most fun memories I have from my childhood. To this day I still love going to the Efteling from time to time to fully submerge in the fairytale! This July I will turn 25 and to celebrate this I will be going to the Efteling with my best friends and bf. I thought it would be a good way to honor my "younger years". I LOVED seeing your perspective from someone who didn't grow up with it and I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for making such a nice vlog for us to whenever we miss the feeling :).

Hey Bobby. Beautiful vlog. Always Nice to watch someone’s thoughts when they visit Efteling for te first time. Did you notice that the music and the soundtracks are the best of the best in the Efteling? They compose (in most of the attractions) different music for each scene and they also have special music for each realm in the park. It’s absolutely beautiful!

Eventhough this is my homepark just 30 minutes away from me, it's absolutely amazing to see someone enjoy these experiences for the first time and just be amazed.

The immersion in this park is so amazing. Absolute legends of creating small little worlds to ride through and nothing in there gives away stuff from the outside. When they want you to ride through darkness, it's really pitch black. Emergency exits are available but are so well hidden, you do not notice them at all. And for short, jerky roller coasters, it's all about comfortable seating. The seats on Joris & de Draak are some of the best and most comfy ever, you do not even mind getting whipped around in the cart. Great vlog!

Greetings from Kaatsheuvel! Having lived here all my life, I must have been there over a hundred times, you sometimes take for granted how amazing the atmosphere of the place is. There's incredible attention to detail in everything they do at Efteling to make every part of the park an amazing experience. And even though it is a busy park with lots of visitors, there's lots of areas that are nice and quit, with trees and animals. It's even nice to walk around and not go on any rides. As some other comments already mentioned, nice to see someone enjoy this amazing park for the first time. Thanks for the video :)

Happy Birthday Efteling: 70 years old this week! Very nice review of the park btw. A friend of mine from the US ( he is in the themepark business, just as I am) was blown away with the Efteling and it is now his favorite Theme Park. That coming from a guy that literally has been everywhere and riden every ride says something doesn't it ?

As a Dutchie, I loved watching your vlog. When i saw that I reached the end of the video, i was very disappointed that you didn't get a chance to ride Fata Morgana. It's old, but a great experience as well! Definitely try it next time.. together with the Aquanura show in the dark!

Joris is my favorite ride. There's just something about it being both a wooden rollercoaster, and seeing another coaster right next to you at the high speed you're at, it just gives you this realization you're in a rollercoaster. It's so cool.

I have been there so many times as a kid, now it's been a handful of years. It is so awesome to see your first time reaction as I have forgotten mine. Villa volta was my favorite, I was extremely fascinated by the rotating house. You do have to admire the craftsmanship of the decors. The park is all about magic, that's what it is.

My favorite ride is the white Gondoletta boats. Fata Morgana is also great. I think you've seen 75% of the park. It's just nice to go there... food is reasonably priced. There used to be more trees.. it's a shame they took many down for more walkways. I loved Spookslot and the Bob which are gone now.

I absolutely love the onboard reaction, not alot of channels do that and it was something I didn't know I missed. Experiencing it with you instead of just a review after the ride. Awesome!

4:42 The House of the Five Senses. The best entrance to a themepark in the entire world. Arguably the best entrance to the best themepark in the world. Unfortulately you forgot three classics: definately Fata Morgana & Spookhuis, but arguably also the Splash Mountain of the park (if you will): Piraña. Oh well. Things to do next time. In 2024 Spookhuis will be replaced by its newer version: Danse Macabre. As always, look at the site before you go in 2024 - so that you know that Danse Macabre is open.

It is an amazing park, I enjoyed it as a kid and as an adult, it's a very family friendly theme park in an absolute beautiful setting. I remember that they had these festivals at night, with bands, and all the attractions were open, with amazing lighting throughout the entire park. And all the visitors were wearing these glow in the dark thingies. I'm not sure if they still do that or that the program is adjusted due to the pandemic, so you have to watch their event calendar for that. But if they are ever going to do that again I can recommend to visit it because even if you have experienced the park before during daylight hours those festivals at night take the experience to a whole new and different level.

The Flying Dutchman sounds awesome!

The max and Moritz is actually a new attraction. On that spot used to be "de bob slee" it was a very old attraction but it was loved by fans of the Efteling

Nice to see you enjoy our little gem, I am a coaster freak meself but this is still in me top 3 parks even without even one exceptional good coaster. Do come back for a couple of days its just fantastic exploring all the littlebits and just soacking up the atmosphere.

I live about 20 minutes away from this beautiful park, and I go there a lot! It will never get boring in my opinion, I enjoy it every single time I go there! (Also, I’m glad you liked the park too!) (PS: if you thought the Flying Dutchman was nice, you definitely should come again some day.. it’s even better now!)

Great vlog, loved your genuine reactions. Next time stay at one of the accommodations of The Efteling. You get 2 days entry in your 1 night room price. It is definitely worth it. The accommodations are all great and you get to enter the park half an hour earlier to catch some extra rides. You have done a lit in one day, but there is so much more… definitely a 2 day park

Hello Bobby, Great Video, I literally live 30 minutes away from The Efteling, I’ve been there so many times but since a couple of years ago, i’m really trying to ride the thrill rides. Fun fact: I’ve been in Baron 1898 once and never in Python. The Efteling is an amazing amusement park, even for the ones that don’t really like thrill rides. 40€ for a ticket is definitely a huge amount of money, But it pays of really well if you look at the quality of the attractions. Every amusement ride is very well themed, With Baron 1898 and The Flying Dutchman really shining. It isn’t quite as big as Disneyland Paris but they are planning to increase their Terrain by 40 hectares of land

The Efteling is the themapark I visites every year since I can remember. Everytime you go there you can spot new details. It's Incredible. My favorite ride is Joris en de Draak. It has so many intense turns and twists that I think it is better than Baron 1898. Overall like you said: it is amazing.

So lovely to see that you have so many good words of our Magical Themepark; The Efteling. There is so much to discover! Me as a Dutchie just LOVE The Efteling, but it is so nice to see that other people around the world love this park as well. For me, because of the history and character of this park, this park beats Disney. (for sure the one in Paris!) This park is our little GEM!

Wow Bobby, that was a fun watch! I have been coming to this park for my whole life, mostly one or twice a year, but since the start of this year we got a annual pass and have been stroling around almost once every week. Love it there.... But what I even love more is to watch video's like this. People who don't know the park and the stories and experience it for the first time. Really fun to see the reactions and comments. I cant even imagine what it would be like to re-discover this wonderfull park. Even though i'm still discovering new details everytime we go there... its insane! To bad you missed out on Fata Morgana! Symbolica is really wonderfull, but I think Fata Morgana even tops that! Even though the attraction is over 36 years old... the scenery, atmosphere and storytelling in that ride is out of this world. What they managed to do with the mechanics at hand so many years ago and its still up there with the big boys like Pirates (Disney) and Symbolica. Next time you go and visit the park... try hooking up with a local to discover even more hidden gems in Efteling. ;-)

Python is a rollercoaster from 1984. Its a classic attraction from the Efteling. Parents went there as kid and now going with there one kids, that the beauty of that rollercoaster and they beauty of the Efteling. I love you enjoy this park to!

If you ever visit efteling. The smells in the darkrides are amazing. In symbolica when you enter the ballroom, smell all that sweet goodness. In droomvlucht it just smells like a dream..

I loved watching your video. You are so lovely in your comments abortus the park and all the attractions, so positive. It made me a proud Dutchgirl! I haven't been in Efteling for man years now but when oud son was little, we visited the Efteling every year. I missed the gratis show Ravelein with the horses and stuntmann. Lovely to see the dreamflight, because I cann't get in, as a physical handicaped person dependent on a wheelchair. I wish I could! Most attractions are doable, the staff of the Efteling is very able to help. Thanks for your lovely reportage.

Oh it's around 15 years ago i was at efteling 🤔 the last park i visited was Phantasialand in Germany. This year i want to go to Walibi in the Netherlands again but in October when they have a Halloween special and the park opens till 11 pm.

I like how the coastercam in baron is exactly like roller coaster tycoon 3. Immediatly felt that vibe. Nice. Love to see a bigger buildup of scenery, pathways, and general vibes of the park before heading towards a coast. Beyond that watched the whole thing. Love it! So glad to have efteling in my country to be able to visit it yearly. Such a fantastical and creative place.

We use the little boatrides for a moment to eat our lunch and give the legs some rest. I love that I live so close to it, only a 10 minute busride from my home. Now that it's fully open again I think I will get a subscription to it again. To get ky kms of walking in, and enjoy the rides and the Fairy tale forest walks again. Did you also go into Villa Volta? I love that one as well, it's ons that plays with your mind. Love it. I'm glad you loved Droomvlucht, i love that one as well, love the beautiful music of that one. Did you also go into the haunted castle? I don't know if it's still open. It's going to close permanently, so sad. I LOVE the music used in that one. Damce Macabre. I will miss that one.... I'm glad to see you enjoyed it so much. The Efteling has won worlds best theme park many times. So proud of that 👏 ❤️ PS, my uncle helped, back in the early 60s with setting up the fairy tale forest. The really old ones are made by an artist named Anton Pieck, my uncle was his student. I'm glad the old ones are still there.

Efteling was an inspiration for Walt Disney's Theme Park. There are loads of theme parks that take direct inspiration from this park.

I hope you visited Piranha, Fata Morgana, Het spookhuis and Villa Volta as well when you were there. Efteling is the most beautiful themepark in the world if you ask me. It's very spacy unlike other themeparks where everything is packed. Hope you had much fun.

definitely quite fun seeing someone experience my homepark for the first time! It's quite a shame you missed "het spookslot". A wonderful efteling themed haunted castle. It's a really big spooky animatronic show. It's really quite amazing but unfortunately due to it's age it will be torn down after this summer. It's definitely worth looking into! (maybe look up some videos online). Also if I can recommend another amazing dutch themepark, definitely look into Toverland sometime! While it doesn't have any long darkrides efteling has, the theming of the park is still quite amazing and it has some great coasters!

Rides not to miss on your second visit: Villa Volta Fata Morgana Spookslot or if you don't come back woon enough pretty sure dance macabere that Will replace it Will be great also. And you must see the Raveleijn show and the Aquanura show.... And the rest of the fairy tale forest and the volk van Laaf area (look for the fun sounding staircase there)

Hi Bobby, nice video man! I have an annual pass for the Efteling and visit every week. Did you know the Efteling is only allowed to build 11% of there grounds? So the Efteling is always 89% or more nature and green.

Just watching Efteling vlogs for nostalgia. I remember most of these attractions opening. My favourite roller coaster is the flying Dutchman. And my favourite normal attraction is villa Volta.

De vliegende hollander accually has been changed recently. The big like waterfall/rain room just before you dive under the lion statue has been changed and it looks completely different now. I like the new scène more.

What a great Efteling vlog! Thank you! This park really is part of my childhood, some of my happiest memories with my family as a child were created there💖.

I will be visiting the Efteling again in a few weeks. I cannot wait. I’ve been there lots of times but it’s still a breathtaking experience every time. I’d rather haven a great overall experience than simply a great thrill ride. Story, music and theming is top notch. I adore all the rides, but I think Flying Dutchman is my favourite. It combines everything the Efteling does well. Great theming, great music, great story, great showbuilding, great queue, great darkride, good and fun family friendly coasters and a splash to top it all off. Also Baron 1898 might be the smallest dive coaster, but it still packs a bit of a punch. But the theming is amazing and that makes it an overall great ride. I really wish Villa Volta was more accessible to foreigners. The pre shows are worthless to you if you don’t understand Dutch. I do love the overall ride. Efteling excels at darkrides. They may not have great thrills (which they don’t need at all), but their theming is otherworldly. I always like seeing someone’s first reactions to my beautiful home park. Edit: I’m also excited for the new attraction that’s been announced: Danse Macabre. I am still sad Spookslot has to go, but it seems like a good replacement so far.

Great that you enjoyed yourself in Efteling. I grew up with this park as a kid. Tip: if you ever get the chance, try and visit Europa Park in Rust, Germany. Definitely recommended.

Great video! I do have one tip on a technically (which may be a style choice on your part). The footage seems a little over exposed at times, resulting in some details getting lost in the bright bits.

For those who will (re)visit The Efteling make sure you pick-up Pardoes his Wand in one of the gift shops. Pardoes is Eftling's Mascotte and you meet him al over the place (the clown looking guy). You can use his wand on different pedestals all over the park to unlock hidden magical features. Just that extra bit of magic. :-)

Joris and the dragon they now have fixed it there where some problems with the track it now has a part that is titan track. and they reinforced the structure

Hello there RL namesake. Nice to see you loved The Efteling. It's a pity (although a little bit of pride is still there) that every thematic bit and story of the rides is in Dutch. But I could offer a recap, not sure if anyone else did. The Baron ride is themed around an unscrupulous mine owner (the Baron) who found veins of gold in land that was claimed by witches. These witches are long dead but their ghosts still haunt and protect the place. He mines out as much as he can, uncaring about the fate of his miners who keep dying because the witches keep sabotaging the mine. They sing to you as you are strapped in to go into the mine "YOU have been warned..." and the ride pretty much is the mine elevator failing and dropping everyone to their doom. The story of the Flying Dutchman is a more well-known legend of the captain who defied a holy day and went out to sea anyway, and thus is punished to be adrift for eternity and showing only to those who are about to go down at sea. The Python is just a thrill coaster. And for a very long time the only one at the Efteling. I can personally not recall a time when it did not exist... It went through a short phase where Coaster Parks were getting popular and a theme place like the Efteling had to get a thrill ride in or fall behind. It is really kindof the only actual ride at the park that has no story or theme attached other than "We needed a thrill ride". The duelling coaster is fun. As far as I know it really IS a random match. The coasters end speed is dependant on how many people are in it, how heavy the load and the distribution of people. The water side actually gets spritzed a bit. And the fire side gets huffed on by the dragon :D The more kid friendly ride is new to me, but I would wager it occupies the spot that the old Bobsled ride was in. Sad to see it go but it was a bit of a relic that was more closed for repair than anything else... Last time I visited Fantasia was also still being built, but I believe that that particular ride also features English spoken lines. :) If my memory serves right, the Roc was the first DarkRide in the country -or even Europe- to be opened, and its main lure was that it did not feature a traditional rise and plunge like other rides, but you got launched into GO immediately. It's of course based on 1001 Arabian Nights. And you got the Carnaval Festival Experience! The ride is not the ride unless it stops multiple times to allow people on and off who need assistance. Just be glad it wasn't in front of the bagpipes... That memory will haunt me forever. It is a little awkwards this day and age. Though considering where you were and I did not hear its music. I am assuming Monsieur Cannibale is finally gone :D It was a teacup ride with cooking pots and a big very very caricature 'African Cannibal' looming over it, complete with a bone through the nose... The Fairytale Forest is actually one of the oldest place in the Efteling. The entire thing has been designed by Anton Pieck (originally of course) and new additions have tried to be in style. The Efteling started out as a picknick field with a children playground, until the Fairytale Forest got added and slowly it grew around into the place you saw before. If you ever get back, I can reccomend going into the "Villa Volta" ride, which is a mindflip and a half. If it's warm, going into the Piranha is a good one and there is another slower darkride, Fata Morgana, that is also pretty historied. A pity it seems you didn't go into the Haunted Castle; it is set to be demolished very very soon. Have a good one :D
