Kudos! Nicely done video! We’ve been to Eger a dozen times and never get tired of it. Aside from Budapest it’s one of our favourite places in Hungary. It’s truly a hidden gem. You captured its magic!! 😊

Beautiful video, thank you. A mistake in subtitles from 56:00. Gárdonyi really one of the most known writer in Hungary, but his most famous work not the "Lunar Eclipse", but a historical novel, "Stars of Eger". This novel necessary to read every children in the elementary school, it's a mandatory reading in Hungary. The theme of this historical novel is the 1552 siege, when Eger was able to succesfully defend itself from the ottomans. It's full with honest emotions, heroism and patriotism.

Hallo WALKING TOUR, dieses ist das erste Video von Euch, das ich gesehen habe. Es hat mir sehr gefallen👍. Eger kannte ich bislang nur dem Namen nach und als Herkunftsort des leckeren Rotweins namens Egri Bikaver, den wir als Studenten oft tranken. Nun habe ich auch einen visuellen Eindruck von Eger bekommen. Die sehr gut restaurierte Burg mit der Ausstellung und die gepflegte beschauliche Stadt ❤ habt ihr gut in Szene gesetzt dank der ausgeglichenen Kameraführung und ohne hektische Schnitte. Die deutschen Untertitel waren für mich hilfreich. Köszönöm, vielen Dank 👍. Auf Eure anderen Videos freue ich mich. Alles Gute, viel Freude bei der weiteren Arbeit & beste Grüße aus Dresden / Germany.

Eger was a large german minority in the past. The german name of the city is "Erlau" 🙂

O prédio da biblioteca é incrível, foi muito bom saber que nesse mesmo prédio há um centro astronômico. Eu e meu marido somos apaixonados pela astronomia. Mais uma vez obrigada pela caminhada. I've read that the population of Eger is approx 50,000. The architecture is fantastic. How did they achieve so much with such a small population? Was it all funded by central government in Austo-Hungarian days?
