If you want to see mind blowing, you should go to Peter's channel and watch him pilot the electrically powered ultra light plane that he built out of foam insulation boards. Yeah, he's also nuts enough to fly in an ultra light plane made of foam board.

@@zPens87z I was curious on if it was a typo, so I made that humorous correction, sorry if it came off as a jab. The build could be considered ascetic, in the sense that it only utilizes the minimum resources needed to accomplish it, but it sounded like you were trying to say aesthetic indeed. And I agree, the designs in this video are not only the most functional but also the nicest ones to look at. The helicopter particularly, though William's cobbled together balloon is super charming.

Essentially, the blades are angled so that as the aircraft gains speed (from falling) the rotors speed up which creates lift, slowing it down like a helicopter. Think oak tree seeds and how they spin to the ground.
